So I've been debating with people on another Cowboys forum about Kendrick Lamar.

I love Kendrick Lamar, and think To Pimp A Butterfly is one of the best rap records of the century. I have many reason for that, which I've explained to them.

These two guys hate Kendrick Lamar. He's trash, he's horrible, untalented, etc. He only makes music for teenage girls. He couldn't stand a chance against their favorite rappers, Ice T and Ice Cube. I then provided links of Ice T/Cube praising Lamar, and one of them said he was "disappointed", and "They don't actually like him. They would think he was garbage 20 years ago, but they must have mellowed as they've aged"

k

So what I'm here for is to ask you fellow hip-hop fans - what do you think of Kendrick Lamar?

I like that this thread has turned into a sharing thread, and not a debate thread. it's made for a very open minded and accepting thread, especially here on cowboyszone.....

That being said I will answer your question this way. Anyone who listen to lyrics, and I do mean listen... a verse will speak to them. If it speaks to you, it was meant for you... if it doesn't it wasn't. If someone doesn't understand the subtext of a killer priest song from his first album, I'm not going to debate him/her, or try to explain... Im going to move on, because it wasn't meant for them.

btw, i appreciate KL.

Didn't mean ho hood skis, meant no hood crap, etc. Sorry Kim:starspin:

Ahhwww, Big. You aint gotta be sorry on my part. I am neither a simpering butterfly, nor a neonatzi feminist. lol. I'm just a girl. lol. I am married to my husband and grew up basically around him and our two sons. lol. They are full male, with the mouths to prove it. Ha! And to be honest, my mouth kinda has grown to match. lol. And I totally understand typos and miswordings. lol. I, of all people on Earth, have no room to judge another. You are my friend, Big, of which I do not have many. You are Boss, sir.
I know I've posted this before, but this time I'm posting it in honor of you, Big. You da Boss. :yourock:

I'm not sure how I missed this in the lineup when I was going through the thread the other day. Somehow I did, though. I'm sorry, StarBoyz. I just listened to it twice, and loved it both times. :D

These 2 are awesome they made 2 cds together this year.

Hypnotize Minds out of Memphis (I believe that's the label?). I would like to know the process & philosophy of the label back than, from the production, to recruitment, to the cover art.

They were mostly 36 Mafia but brought in some other rappers; Project Pat, T Rock, Sandman, La Chat, and a couple of others. Was a break off label that tried to mimic Master P's rappers but unfortunately didn't go that far. DJ Paul runs the show and think he released solo albums for some of the members; Juicy J, Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca (RIP). You get the feeling that Paul ripped them off after the fact but that's probably as much as I can add in that regard.
