"I spent 19 years as the NFL columnist for this newspaper, and there's one game that stands out above all others in the 400-plus games I attended during that stretch.

It was played in November 1997 between the Green Bay Packers and Colts at Indianapolis. The Packers were the defending NFL champions on their way to another Super Bowl that season. The Colts were 0-10 and playing a backup quarterback that day.

But Paul Justin, filling in for an injured Jim Harbaugh, outplayed Brett Favre at quarterback and the Colts prevailed, 41-38, on a field goal at the gun. It was a coaching victory, a gameplanning victory, by Lindy Infante and his staff. The Colts ran the ball, milked the clock and Justin played turnover-free football for the upset. I saw that day how coaching can make a difference and help a team win a game it has no business winning.

Coaching has not made a difference for the Cowboys this season...."

As we sift through the wreckage of a 4-10 season -- the 15th non-playoff season in the 20 years since the Cowboys last won a Super Bowl -- we are left to wonder how a team can collapse from 12-4 to this in the span of 12 months.

Let that sink in for just a moment.....disgraceful.

Even Jerry figured this out. Not that he'll do anything major about it.

If Jerry is willing to eat Garrett's contract like he did Chan Gailey's I could see him Firing Garrett. Jerry really called out the offensive side of the ball and said there is no excuse losing this many games because Romo was out. Garrett, Linehan and Wade Wilson might be sweating on Black Monday.

Could only see that happening for Sean Payton, otherwise it will be some position coaches walking the plank.

"it's the job of the coaching staff to find ways to win games. Regardless whom the quarterback is."

"Any coach can win when he's dealt a hand of aces. The rest must play the hand they are dealt -- and find a way to win with it. It's their job."

"Jason Garrett and his staff have let this franchise down"

20 years of inferior coaching, save for the few years that Jerry swallowed his pride and hired Parcells. The one constant in this whole nightmare has been the egotistical, delusional owner of the Cowboys who masquerades as the part time GM.

Cliche

Tuna Lite was semi retired when he got here, he was only here to recoup on the riches he lost in his divorce settlement.

Don't believe the fallen pebble okie dole

Parcells time in Dallas was much a do about nothing.

And I seen where Weeden played for the Texans today and won the game. They were down 10 - 0 when he came in. That sums it up for me. So frustrating to see other teams win with backup Quarterbacks. I'm ready for the draft

The one thing I am fairly certain on for next season is that if Jason Garrett is our head coach we won't win. Period.

This year should have told you everything you need to know about him. The man is out of his league and everyone, including the owner I hope, knows it.
