Art Briles seemed to have no problem coaching RG3.

Then maybe RG3 should go back and team up with Art Briles or Jack Welch....better College and high school player then a PRO.....

If I was RG3, i would be in Hue Jacksons back pocket....a great OC to learn from and a Coach that will soon be a HC of a team needing a QB (49ers, Browns). If Hue Jackson cant turn RG3 around no coach can...

I'm not as adverse to the Dallas brass bringing Bob Griffin III in this offseason. If he can learn the timing based offense, learn from Romo as well as Wilson, Linehan and JG regarding technique and film study...he may be a good backup in 2016 and long term project. Granted, I also would be a proponent of grabbing Goff or Wentz in the draft to cover all the bases going forward in case the light never turns on for Griffin or if like many 1st round QB's, Goff or Wentz bust.

There are a bunch of big IF's...I am totally aware of that fact. But, Dallas' OL and running game (hopefully with the addition of an early round pick) would make life much easier on Griffin. There will be less pocket collapses causing him to stop looking downfield and worrying about the rush as he did in Washington. His pocket presence would increase just due to having more time. Who knows? I wouldn't be upset if they took a shot on him. Besides...who else is out there for the backup QB that would really satisfy Cowboys fans?

Ultimately...I just want Romo healthy for a full season and the QB of the future to sit and develop for two to three more seasons.

Cowboys need a back up QB that can win a few games.....RG3 will be learning a system he has never played in....doesnt understand how to read defenses and not played in a year......Best to find a journeyman QB that fits the system.....the goal is win... not to teach another QB how to play the position......that is what he draft is for

When is decision on his release expected?

There is no "decision". It has already been made. It is just a matter of timing at this point. He has to go before the league year begins in March.

I don't see how either RGIII or Manziel do not end up in Dallas. From a JJ perspective, RGIII is still really young and Gives Dallas a potential starting QB when Romo retires that could be had at a decent price.

Seems like a Jerry Jones move all the way.

And, honestly, it's not a terrible idea.

I still don't see the harm in this outside of RGIII having a slight ego.

At first his cost to come here is the contract. It's the roster spot that is a problem for me even at the beginning. They need to be very judicious about bringing in any and all QBs. We need to look at a lot of film hoping to find a developmental QB and a veteran. Having said that I think if his knee is going to last a few years then I'd strongly consider Griffin.

You would hope so but why chance it. Like a virus it might do too much damage before you get the right meds.

I suppose that could be. I guess it depends on your priority. If it's killing the coach... RG3 is you man.

It's sickening to think that one of these two may be in Dallas this season. Even more sickening that if could stop us from getting a QB in this draft.

There is no reason if they were signed you couldn't still draft a QB

Guess what...Romo didn't get invited to the combine and didn't get drafted... Wentz has all the tools to succeed with good
coaching, training and studying defenses with Romo. What's not to like?

Really like Wentz
Don't think he is the top QB but could be the best QB down the line

If either of these walking distractions were signed, we will not draft a top QB prospect. They will view addressing the backup situation as mission accomplished and move on to other things.

They said they will sure up the backup spot. Never said anything about the future from what I've seen.

Kirk Cousins just showed you yesterday what he truly is and that is a backup. David Carr has more promise than Cousins. Look Rg3 or Manzeil are not my choices for Dallas . I would seriosly look at F A and try to land Matt Moore or Drew Stanton. I am not sold on any QB coming out of draft this year.

Would have been a good backup for us this year. Cousins probably would have won a few for sure. Totally do not want Manziel and RG3 is not worth the effort. Stares guys down, relies on athletic ability versus developing get the skill and vision for the position. Find the best vet you can outside of these 2 knuckleheads and draft somone. Easier said then done but it can be done.
