The other challenge with drafting all these 1st round d-linemen as opposed to offensive linemen is that a offensive lineman will play 1,000+ snaps. A defensive lineman will get 60% of those snaps.

And if you end up with high picks used on three defensive ends in successive years, that means other needs are being neglected as a result, not to mention the fact that one of the three will be losing snaps to the others, further limiting your return on investment. There are only so many draft picks and resources to use.

I'm fine with adding to the defensive line, especially at the totally neglected weak spot of 1-technique. But what I am absolutely not fine with is using #4 overall to do it.

Agreed. Not when the linebacking corps needs help and the secondary is a "car-wreck".

I can't read through all of this, as it wouldn't change my opinion...I want the guy back...when they showed the sideline issues, I saw passion, nothing more, nothing less...this guy, with a full off-season under his belt, can be a top tier player...why go through the "sloppy" part of him, only to let him go now? If Garrett is as good as they are making him out to be with creating the "team" atmosphere, then he should be able to make Hardy a team player...if not, then perhaps Garrett is blowing smoke up everyone's backside...

if his contract desires are reasonable, I say bring him in AND draft Bosa, if one of the QB's isn't there @ #4

How so? I don't get the correlation.

Because I don't feel that you can justify using the #4 overall pick in top of what they've already invested. The team has enough other needs - including a quarterback of the future - and needs at secondary, linebacker, and running back that need to be filled before they go and sink yet another high round pick into the defensive end position.

If you're using a pick that valuable on defensive end, it's because your other investments have failed.

I agree. I think he's gone. We tried, he didn't. Great talent, but his head is crossed-thread. Don't need the headache.

We were close to last in sacks last year so there's a big big need for D-linemen. I see your point though and it's a good one.

Think if the DL is putting pressure the secondary will be ok. This draft has serious DL depth but the CB depth doesnt look that good. Would not be mad if Dallas dipped in FA for a CB

would cost more but Dallas has to spend some money this yr, theyre 1 of 8 teams who havent met the cap floor.
