Andrew Billings vs Sheldon Rankins

I'd go with Rankins. The guy is easily strong enough to hold double teams. That said, I like Billings a lot and would love to have him on the team. I give Rankins the slight edge though because I feel he has a higher ceiling.

Teams don't just double the big guy
They double the guy they need help blocking
Rankins would fit very well
But I suspect the only way we take a DT in the first is if the qb's are gone
More likely look at who will be there in the second

Not only that, but it may even be a 3rd rounder ! Say they do take one of the QBs at 4, would CB be the next biggest need in the FO eyes ? For most of us (myself included) 2nd round is what we are targeting for a DT, simply because we know there is no way on gods green earth they will take one in the first. But depending on what does or does not happen in FA, corner may be the bigger need.
Again, I know this is a Billings vs Rankins thread - but they both will probably be gone by the time we reach 34.

CB is a huge need but I think I would address that in free agency and then again later in the draft. Say you go QB first then DT then maybe lb or CB with the next two, assuming the quality is there. There will be DT's when we pick in the second with the depth in this draft
Don't really have a fuzzy feeling about the early CB players but the need is certainly large. Just feel better about signing a decent CB in free agency and maybe look at the later guys.

Agree on all points. With Rankins and Crawford inside, it wouldn't really matter who was technically the 1 or the 3. They both deserve the attention of a double team which leaves the other singled up.

As a 1T I like Billings. I think Rankins is a natural 3T. I don't think he is as much of a pocket pusher as he is a guy who can slip the gaps. I think they're both incredible talents on the interior DL, I would take Billings though.

Hell trade back and get both Billings and Rankins haha

If you intended that, then what is the problem with the team?

I still don't understand what you are trying to say. We need a 1-Tech And we need better DB's...

Billings required double even triple teams all throughout college. I haven't seen many games of rankins but against A&M he didn't look the best.

Love them both personally. Rankins probably fits the current system better as he could play either tackle spot.

You attempt to argue for the sake of arguing...and don't play as if you don't understand...good night, John Boy.
