Alternative is Kaep gives them time to develop a QB instead of throwing him to the wolves.

And as of now, from everything we've heard, QB is not in play at 4 for us.

Incorrect. One Jones says we would draft a franchise QB over a impact player at 4, another Jones says we wont draft a QB in the first

What we as fans have now is no difinitive awnser

San Fran @ 7 and Rams @15?

I forgot about San Fran....they would for sure take one of these guys. Then i'd think the Rams after that.

Or, perhaps they want a guy who has learned the NFL and has played at a high level, and is just looking for a new address. Kap isn't bad. But he is also very immediate versus the learning curve of a rookie.

Dallas has time to sit a rook and learn under Romo. It's not like this team is headed to the tippy top right now.

Kap was bad last season and his locker room didn't like him. Yet, they'd still rather him than a guy with a fresh start? Let's just be honest with ourselves this is not a great group of quarterbacks this year. The one year we get a top 5 pick we get some decent QB prospects but no Luck's or Mariotta's or Winstons.

So let me get this right. You are saying the browns, maybe the worst team that has been rebuilding since the 1960's and still hasn't gotten it right, have such a keen eye on talent, they would make this trade because the players at the top of the list at QB this season are crap?

Just to be clear. Cleveland sets the bar on QB talent in this league. Is that what you meant?

No i'm saying even a team as pathetic as the Browns who draft quarterbacks every 2 years are deciding this year they are going to pass lol.

Do you have a source on this? I haven't read anything that has stated we'd take a QB at 4.

Even if Cleveland stays at the second pick in the 1st round, I doubt they would take a QB. Cleveland needs to get their house in order and go for the high probability solid over the risky boom-or-bust players. I could easily see them taking Ramsey, Tunsil, or Bosa. I am going to guess that if Clev stays at 2, they will take Bosa. Clev just cannot afford to strike out again. Goff or Wentz would be another disaster in the waiting. Without the proper structure in place, the not ready for prime time Goff and Wentz would be abject failures from the get-go.

Sometimes you have to go for the singles and not the home runs.

I think a trade up into the top 5 might be too rich for the Rams. Especially for a QB where they would probably have to overcompensate on a trade considering they will likely be competitive offers. I think they look in the 2nd, maybe give Cook a long look

The Rams won't even have to trade into the top 5 if they trade Kap to the Browns. Someone may very well fall to them. Especially if the Cowboys pass on QB.

He would IF there was a franchise QB in this Draft. There isn't a Troy Ailkman, Peyton Manning or an Andrew Luck.

You missed that?

Hold on ill dig it up

I already did for him lol

"I mean you have to look at it," Jones said. "You’re not naive to it, but if you have the opportunity in this league, in our situation, to get a potential franchise quarterback, then you have to make the investment. You have to have the patience. You sacrifice maybe that opportunity that maybe is impactful right now."

The Browns are so desperate for a QB it's possible they could trade for Kap and still take a QB with their first pick to give them some options but I don't see Kap being a good fit in Cleveland not that any QB is. He has too many issues passing from the pocket to have success in Cleveland he would be running around all the time. SF isn't going to give Kap away they're going to want a #2 for him but they could settle for a 3rd to unload him because he doesn't want to be there.

You don't see many teams trade for a QB then turn around and use a top 5 pick on one in the draft. There's one thought that maybe the Browns aren't that thrilled with either Wentz or Goff or that they're tired of wasting first round picks on QBs. The last 2 QBs they drafted in the first round ended up on the street after only 2 seasons. They've had no luck with drafted QBs or veteran QBs would hate to be a fan of the Browns. Look at the list of QBs they've gone through.

Hue Jackson is a very good football coach. I have loads of respect for him. I definitely would take notice if he decided that no QB is worth his 2nd overall pick.

For the record if Kaep ends up in Cleveland I think they draft Bosa, but a QB still wouldnt be shocking.
