IF we can sign Morris AND Robinson, suddenly, blokes of the gridiron, we are major players in FA. Just last week were were major players among the journeymen FA class of 2016.

These two additions will change EVERYTHING!
Again, if we can sign both of them, we go from a 2 in FA to an 8, just like that. I feel so good about the sudden change of events that I can eat 3 scones with boysenberry and tea!

The more you look at who they are trying to sign in free agency, the more it looks to me like they are thinking QB at #4. I think everything they are saying and doing is a smokescreen. When they didn't get Matt Moore, they may have changed their thinking. Ever since then, they have gone hard to shore up all the holes at DE, CB, and RB.

I would say signing Robinson and Morris would indicate that we don't plan to draft players at those positions in the first round. I'm not sure the same can be said of trying to sign Mayowa.

That's cool. I hope that it IS a done deal and allows us to move on from Carr and not be forced to take a defensive back at #4 overall.

No offense but signing a corner and losing a corner does absolutely nothing in terms of what we can do at #4.

Full disclosure: I still want Ramsey.

You think this guy is better than Carr?

Significant downgrade.

So does Robinson all but end Carr's career in Dallas? You'd have Scandrick, Mo, and Robinson. Not exactly a murderers row, but that's irrelevant.

Then you'd have the entire draft to add depth(4-6) as needed.

You already have Mitchell and Olatoye who are probably 4-5. So maybe a mid to late rd pick for depth and ST.

i don't know about significant. I think they're about the same. If you were ranking their overall ability on a scale of 100, they'd be within 3-5 points of each other. But this move allows the team to acquire a similar player at a price matching the player's ability, unlike Carr. It's a no-brainer in terms of managing the overall roster.

I am not really sure about the Morris signing, assuming it happens. If it is a low signing bonus insurance type of deal where he can easily be cut with no significant cap implications AND it won't mess up a potential compensatory pick next year I guess it would be OK. There really isn't a downside to that scenario. If it turns out he can still play, then it is a win, and if he can't no harm done. It could also be a smoke screen to eliminate someone from moving ahead of us and taking a back that we want badly in the draft but don't want top tip our hand on.

I'll get excited when the deal is done; for now I am mildy encouraged.

I would still like to see Carr take the pay cut if Robinson is signed and he (Carr) has less leverage. he may be uninspiring but at least he is not downright pathetic.

I wouldn't be so quick to give either player a spot. But that would be nice if at least one of them earns it.
