I don't get this Morris signing. Am I missing something?

He's small, slow, can't catch, and only had his success in a read option offense.

Yeah, that sounds like what Dallas needs.

He's extremely durable (never missed a game), is still young (only 27), has been highly productive (1,178 yards per season) and excels in short yardage (100 percent on third-and-short last year, 82 percent over the past three seasons).

You're right, it does sound like what we need.

He's been in sharp decline, but I hope I'm wrong, and he rejuvenates behind this line.

I like a good short yardage guy, but he's slower than Christmas though.

Statistically he's declined since his rookie year. But I don't think he's actually physically declined or anything as a player. He's not really small, 5'11 225 is a pretty decent size for a running back and I remember him being heavier than that.

Morris' decline seems to have coincided with RG3's both seemed to feed off each other in 2012. Although Morris' numbers have gone down each season I like the signing.

Morris only had one season where he averaged under 4.0 a carry and has a career average of 4.4. Although he lacks speed he manages to break off some pretty good runs due to being quick and shifty.

I am thinking we run zone blocking for Morris and a mix of both for Dmac.

IF they bring in Zeke which is highly doubtful now, McFadden is gone. Him saying this makes me believe they will grab one from round 4-7
I think he is just wanting other teams to think he might still take Elliott, just in case there are trade partners. I don't think McFadden is cut, you take four or more RBs to camp anyway. The last roster spot would be between McFadden and Morris barring other injuries if they were to take Elliott.

Yeah could be. You may be right. I am just not looking forward to having to defend against EE for the next 5 years. I cringe at the thought of it. Id literally draft him and then trade him out of our division if need be. and no, im not kidding.

Been watching him for a bunch of years being that I'm located out of dc. He follows his blocking well and has a low center of gravity and hits the hole hard. Lots of power. He's the anti McFadden as far as power goes. No arm tackling for this dude.

Yes, I'm not sure what exactly denotes being in "sharp" decline. Few running backs average the same YPC from year to year.

Going from 4.8 his first year to 4.6 the second doesn't mean much. Dropping to 4.1 and then 3.7 the next two years could mean he's in decline, but I don't know if there's enough evidence just from the YPC to determine that.

My guess is that any interest for Elliott just lessened. That leaves Henry, Prosise, and that kid from FSU as the only viable options at RB, at least for me.

the notre-dame prosise rb would be a good pick in the third round and push both mcfaddon or morris his first year then by his second year could be good enough to start kind of like murray was when he was drafted.
