Browns trade Eagles #2 overall pick

Jimmy invented the draft pick trade?

Most credit Jimmy and his guys for creating the chart that labels all the draft picks as a number value, making it easier for teams to trade picks by being able to easily determine if a trade was even according to the numbers. I think that's probably what the guy is talking about. Not specifically that Jimmy was the first person ever to make a draft pick trade.

We will NOT draft Tunsil because we have plenty of money on the OLINE.

Yes, but that wasn't your original trash point, now was it? Your original point was that our line didn't prevent Romo from getting injured...so we are going to pass on Tunsil. It was a terrible point.

And even with your now revised point, what are we going to do, pass on every elite RT prospect or a prospect we think may become something in the future due to cap demand? Jerry wants to build the greatest offensive line in history, that isn't cheap.

I also find it funny, this board that goes on about "The cap doesn't matter", Stephen Jones "The cap doesn't matter"....until it does.

This makes no sense. Of course we don't want him so that's why we would be willing to trade down with someone who did want him.

The reason a team would trade with us to get Tunsil would be to move ahead of someone else who may want him, like say the Ravens at 5.

Ravens are at 6. So a team could easily just deal with Jax, maybe pay a little less, slide into 5 knowing there's little chance we are taking Tunsil. The larger point being that we aren't the only team that holds a key to getting to Tunsil before the Ravens will likely pick him at 6.

I think people aren't forgetting. They are ignoring it and also seeing reports now that the offensive coaches are pushing for Elliott. Further, the Cowboys might find themselves in a bind where the QBs are gone, they can't really get a good trade down proposal and don't want Tunsil. They might be boxed in and think Elliott is the only viable option at that point instead of Bosa.

You could be right, but I am sticking with my thought that they will no-how no-way draft EE. Recent history has shown that JJ doesn't value a top RB that much. Additionally, there are too many holes elsewhere. If this was a SB caliber team that was very close to getting over the top, then I could come closer to seeing it...but just not right now.

from Super Bowl week is pretty interesting now: Paxton Lynch, Dee Haslam, Hue Jackson and Leigh Steinberg.

The #Browns had a predraft visit with #Memphis QB Paxton Lynch on March 28. With pick No. 8, he'll be under consideration there.

If you want Paxton Lynch....cowboys can't trade down IMO.

Do you think we should draft Lynch at #4? I wouldn't be opposed to it...

that is the way I see things.... Elliot would be the most sure thing that would help this team. Everyone else after the top 2 QBs and Elliot are still a little questionable IMO

I would agree with that. There's drug concerns with Bosa. Jack is coming off a significant knee injury. No one is sure if Ramsey is a safety or a corner and the Cowboys need a lockdown corner. Tunsil wouldn't make any sense we're the best in the league upfront so that leaves Elliott if we stay at #4.

Eagles VP Howie Roseman just said the Eagles looked at both quarterbacks (Goff and Wentz) closely, as well as those who would be coming out of college over the next few years, before deciding to make the move up to #2. So, they'll take the one the Rams don't.

If Tunsil and Ramsey are on the board we can trade down and still get Elliott.

What is there to learn? They took a chance and it didn't pan out.

And, by the way, Washington has won two NFC East titles since they drafted RGIII. The Cowboys have won one.

The real question is whether Cowboys brass has learned anything from the Post Aikman years.

Who has won more playoff games in that time frame?

Whether or not JAX wants him is the issue, not whether we want him.

Eagles have to many holes in their team to be a factor, even if Wentz is special.

True, but the NFCE is pretty weak. PHI is the only team whose future looks brighter at this point. NY may feel that way w/FA spending they did, but I would have gladly taken a blue chip QB prospect with an injury prone and aging franchise QB instead of what we'll end up with. Trading up from 4 wouldn't have cost the team that much. JJ should have secured the 1 or 2 bf the Rams/PHI came with bounties (if possible; maybe the teams wanted to wait longer, etc.)

Fixed.

I guess the question now is, in a trade back scenario, how far down can we go to grab Zeke and get the extra picks? I don't think it changes at all as Cleveland would be a likely suitor for Zeke at 8 as well.

So philly actually gave up all those picks, plus CB maxwell and LB Alonzo. They used the players to get to 8 in the first place.

I don't know what you consider "that much" but I would not have been happy if we had given up our 2nd to move up 2 spots! I think it would have at least been next years 1st.

It would have been both, you would have gone Ape:D When we do have to move up for a franchise QB in future drafts, it will cost ALOT more than that. Here's to another year of Romo hope.
