Browns trade Eagles #2 overall pick

How do you figure? It's out of our hands. There's no guarantee that we could have done anything about it. Even if we had made an offer, the Browns/Rams didn't have to choose us. Or our offer may not have been good enough. Or if it was, someone could have bettered it. It's out of our hands.

And we've been an 8-8 team for a long time with a good QB that hardly was beating anybody's brains in. Just because they get a solid starter in place it doesn't mean they are going to be any good.

If someone told me the Eagles would give up their whole draft and a few picks in the next draft for one guy. Even if that one guy was a can't miss, I would love it. No picks worth a damn this year and only a couple mid rounds next year.

You still need talent. If you watched the Packers last year, you would never believe Aaron Rodgers is the best the league has. Andrew Luck is supposed to be the future, he sure looked like a bust for the time he played last year. Tony Romo has trouble winning over 8 games with average talent. The Saints have been a below average team for awhile now without talent around him. So many talented QBs watched their careers go down the drain due to lack of talent.

Thus the term, BUILD. I don't think Green Bay's done good job of it lately. Plus, they DO have a Super Bowl under Aaron Rodgers.

The #4 pick is the slump buster your wingman has to take home at this point. Could turn out hot in the right lighting if the right player is there though. Not sure what to think at this point.

How so? Cleveland wanted to maximize the value of the deal -- just because we are the the #4 spot doesn't mean they would simply accept less from us for the #2 pick. In other words, we might have offered less...but that doesn't mean anything.

Cleveland had made it known they would move the #2 pick since the combine....if we were really interested we could have made a deal proir to this one, also note the Titans traded out also...so that's two team we could've dealt with. but as always this organization is a day late and a dollar short.

With the QBs off the board Elliott becomes a real possibility especially with Bosa having a history with pot.

that is the way I see things.... Elliot would be the most sure thing that would help this team. Everyone else after the top 2 QBs and Elliot are still a little questionable IMO

I don't buy into that theory, why not maximize that OL, by putting the best runner possible behind it?

I think people aren't forgetting. They are ignoring it and also seeing reports now that the offensive coaches are pushing for Elliott. Further, the Cowboys might find themselves in a bind where the QBs are gone, they can't really get a good trade down proposal and don't want Tunsil. They might be boxed in and think Elliott is the only viable option at that point instead of Bosa.

That just isn't true -- Cleveland (or Tennessee) was not going to give up that spot without getting a ransom in return, regardless of when we tried to deal with them. Frankly, I don't think they would have given any early deal serious consideration without getting to this point. This is the time of year when teams get desperate and are willing to give up a ton of picks.

And there are now some reports surfacing that teams don't think we'll take Tunsil if he's there at four, so they don't have to swap into our spot.

If these "reports" are saying that multiple teams want Tunsil, then the only way they can be sure they get him is to trade up for him. Now if only one team wants Tunsil and there's no competition for him, then that team would be sitting pretty. I somehow think there are a few teams that would love to have him.

I think what might have once been a position of strength at 4 is no longer that. We kind of are pigeon holed at this point.

This makes no sense. Of course we don't want him so that's why we would be willing to trade down with someone who did want him.

The reason a team would trade with us to get Tunsil would be to move ahead of someone else who may want him, like say the Ravens at 5.

Maybe after spending an entire week with Wentz and meeting with Goff, they do no consider them to be franchise type QB's. So no need to trade away the future. Just a thought.

My opinion is based on how the front office dealt with Murray. He completed his rookie contract with a franchise record year and still didn't get a second deal. A rookie RB drafted in the top ten is going to cost similar to what JJ would not pay Murray. I think the prevailing thought is that a 3rd or 4th round RB could do great behind our line. Again, JMO. I could certainly be wrong.
