Dark horse first round prediction?

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. What makes zero sense is to hold a press conference and basically telegraph your draft intent when you know the team above you is actively shopping their pick to someone who wants to jump ahead of you. They aren't THAT stupid. Something is up.

Yup. Either Buckner or Shaq Lawson could definitely be the pick. Soooo many options :omg:

Buckner. I'm not even sure he's a "darkhorse" at Valley Ranch. I think he's squarely in the discussion. Getting the vibe that interest in either Ramsey or Elliot is bogus. Just not sure which one.

Doubt it happens but some kind of trade down for Lawson who they spent 6 hours with.

If you believe rumor, he might be a tumbling prospect as he will supposedly have to have surgery eventually on his shoulder.

That means you either put him under the knife as soon as you draft him or you have him play with the harness for a year and then do it.

Lol that you have to ask this question

Of course they're that stupid

Didn't know that about Lawson thanks for info. Well, nevermind then. Tunsil/Spence/Lynch/Hargreaves

Wentz is my darkhorse. No one thinks we will have a shot so I am calling it now, Eagles take Ramsey, SD trades 3 and Tunsil is taken and We take Wentz.

They made up their mind to trade down the moment they heard the Eagles had moved up to the #2 spot.

Bank on it. They wanted a quarterback and Lynch is not worth the #4 overall pick.

If Lynch turned out to be the franchise QB, and that doesn't mean Brady or Montana, or even Romo. The how would he not be worth the 4?

I'm with ya.. My gut tells me they want out of the four spot. The only concern is the trade talk for that spot has cooled down tremendously. Which is why the FO is now saying the are "comfortable" with picking at four. If Dallas can find a trade partner and gain an extra 2nd, they will take it in a heartbeat. The sweet spot in this draft is from the middle of the first.. To the middle of the second. They could use those picks to snag a DE, DT, QB, RB or even a CB.. Without much of a drop off from the top of the first.

I guess we'll know based on their war cam reactions when San Diego is on the clock.

They're going to fist pump and wink and back slap in every pick including Dak Prescott who they will be 'amazed' was still there when they picked and blind fans will happily lap it up

I dont think "value" should be looked at as a "what if" perapective. His overall abilities, intangibles, and potential has been rated as being around the 15th to 25th best player, on average.

If you look at "value" in a mathematical sense in terms of drafting, the higher you draft the better player you can get. However, if you don't do that then you have lost value at the specific moment in time and as it relates to the opportunity to maximize that value.

Suppose you could trade down 3 spots for a 2nd round pick and then get Lynch.

Or suppose somebody else wishes to trade up with the Cowboys for Lynch and gives their #1 and their #2 and perhaps more.

Now suppose one of thos picks turn out to be Hackenberg plus a DE that turns out to be a real contributor.

So then, who is to say that it isn't Hackenberg rather than Lynch that becomes the true franchise quarterback?

So, Im not really predicting who will be the future star, if either. Im just saying they should maximize their value because this is the value given to the 4th worst team during the previous season.

A tight end

I wouldn't rule this out. Cowboys need to draft long term starters at QB, SS, RB, TE and DL via the 2016 & 2017 draft. Trading down for an extra couple of 2nds is a good move. You could get the best TE and best SS in the draft this year with a mid 1st and early 2nd.
