Dallas valued Zeke more than Ramsey

With both Ramsey and Zeke on the board, and Dallas choosing Elliot, it's clear who they ranked higher. Had the Chargers taken Ramsey, and our ensuing pick had been Elliot, we might have never truly known who they held in higher regard (it was heavily reported Ramsey and then Elliot). Now that question is fully squashed.

But <<donns M.Night Shamalamama wizard hat>>...what if our top target was Bosa all along? I know, I know, the pre-draft conference gave off an air that they weren't interested in him at all. Jerry also did some double-speak about Zeke and suggested that the shelf-life of a RB and the value of the #4 pick (I took it as, it would be a great asset to have but a short-lived one). By that same token, you could see them beaming about what a dynamic player Ramsey was.

Smokescreen? Do you think they would have taken Bosa over Zeke if available? Me? I don't know, but am glad we took Elliot over Bosa.

Bosa? Maybe in a trade down scenario after Elliott and Ramsey

Elliott was their guy all along.

Sounds like from the press conference that all week it was very close between the two. Not a lock at all.
But towards the end, the momentum for Zeke won out.
By draft time he was the clear favorite.
They all seem pretty excited.

BTW, they did have a trade offer for their spot. As it turned out, that team told them it was Zeke they were trading up for. Pretty cool.

Did you expect them to say they're a little disappointed in the decision they made?

All 32 teams get their guy.

Of course.
They also said that Wentz was the pick at 4 if he was there, btw.

I wanted Ramsey, but the Cowboys would not have used him properly anyway... To me, Ramsey is not a CB, but he's a damn fine Safety... Byron Jones on the other hand, I'm not exactly sure what he is, other than a really good TE stopper, but I think I know what he isn't, and he's not a FS... Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but unlike Ramsey, I don't think Jones plays physical enough to be an impact player at FS...

At least the Ravens were honest.

BTW, I called Ezekiel Elliott based on a number of reasons. I just didn't think the Cowboys could pass him up.

I said this for awhile too many questions in Bosa and Ramseys game. You didnt have them questions about Elliot. His game is sound, he's a playmaker and you dont have to question where he will line up. Elliot was IMO after whats come out about Tunsil is the safest pick in this draft.

This was not a long term prospect ranking thing; this was all about short term gratification.
Let's call it what it is and all hope it works out great.
