Can't say I hate our draft. I don't know if we were targeting any DLmen to be immediate starters. People get so caught up in starter vs backup, but you really want to send DLmen in waves. We had the best pass rusher in the NFL for most of his career and never had any talent around him. So I'm not upset with guys like Collins and Tapper even if they never become starters. D-Law proved last year that he could be our future at one of the DE spots, and I think we want to give Gregory another year before abandoning ship. Probably wasn't a DE in the draft with more upside than Gregory anyway. And Collins has the potential to eventually take over for T. Craw if we don't give him a third contract. And Tapper could be the heir to Gregory if he does burn out of the league.

That being said, besides the Smith pick (which could be epically brilliant or a blunder), I was surprised to see that we didn't go with risky choices until later in the draft. I was afraid we'd waste our 2nd rounder on Hackenburg. I'm much more comfortable spending the 135th pick on Prescott than the 34th on Hack or Cook or even Prescott for that matter. And Tapper has high bust potential (but brilliant upside) and I'm glad we took a chance on someone like him in the 4th. I don't have a problem with gambling, but don't gamble with early picks. That's what 4th rounders are for. As for Jaylon Smith, sure it's a gamble, but when you could get the best player in the entire draft at #34, it might be worth it.

You guys are funny. Complain about Dallas doing terrible in the later rounds and always taking division 2 players.

This year we have taken 2 great pieces for DL from top schools and a QB that can at the least be a backup for us that would have went higher if not for a DUI.

We actually doing really well late in the draft, let's see what these players do first

So people would have rather burned a 1st + pics on wentz, or a 2nd and 3rd on Lynch? Cardale jones? We got this guy with a late 4th. If we are terrible again next year, whose to say we don't get Deshaun Watson or whoever really steps it up next year?

Well, right now behind Tony we have a guy who has never won a game and a guy who has never played a game.

We didn't have the balls for Wentz/Goff, at least they didn't take Dak in the 3rd or early 4th. Romo will be his coach the next two years (hopefully). Is what it is. Felt the same way about Jaylon being a luxury pick, etc. We could have gotten a starter there, but ya move on.

Some of the guys on this board make me laugh. "WE need a QB, we need a qb RARARA" Then we get one, how actually isnt really that bad. "What a dumb pick, i hate this franchise, jerry needs to go.." Jeeze.

Do not like the Prescott pick at all. Not a fan of the player, and there were better options available IMHO at other positions.

Prisco gave it an A... first time he's done that all week, still waiting for Walter (he is lagging behind). From what I have seen he has a lot of potential at the next level but will need to learn to be a pocket passer. Still a lot of the negatives about Cook seem to be more positive here, good leader, better accuracy/completion %/, etc. Any chance we bring back a bit of a wildcat formation? Like I said before, bad pick in the 3rd, good pick at the end of the 4th.

To me....reminds me of a poor man's Russel Wilson....

New to watching the draft? There has been a few drafts way worse. IMO this draft is not bad and think the team will come away with 3 starters.

Great analysis. Pick makes more sense this way. Keeps us out of the scrap heap.

I guess that possibility is now thrown out. Don't really think he will amount to anything anyway. He is a very poor man's JaMarcus Russell.
