Mike Glennon is currently a name on the Dallas Cowboys' radar.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup quarterback had his job taken from him whenJameis Winston was drafted No. 1 overall in 2015. Since then, he's been paired in trade discussions with several teams in the league including the Cowboys, but the Buccaneers have been sitting tight.

According to 247Sports insider Luke Rodgers, the Cowboys have a standing offer on the table for Glennon if the Buccaneers decide to trade him. Rodgers' source informed him that the Cowboys attempted to trade their 2016 third-round pick and 2017 third-round pick to the Bucs to acquire Glennon on draft day.

The Arizona Cardinals also recently attempted to land Glennon, per Rodgers. The NFC West team tried to sling a second-round pick for the quarterback before the startof the draft.

In early April, Glennon was tabbed as a backup quarterback who could entice the Cowboys. The 6-foot-6 quarterback was the third-round selection of the Bucs in 2013 and has thrown for 4,025 yards and 29 touchdowns with 15 interceptions in two seasons of play. Yet, the Buccaneers never bought into Glennon as the

Isn't he a FA after this year? If so, giving up two 3rd's is a bit risky considering the contract he will probably want.

I'm sure he see's himself in the Osweiler category....Daniels minimum.

Well we took Prescott in the 4th and we offered our 3rd so it would've been instead of not in addition to likely

But now we have a standing offer for the guy according to the article.. I tell you our ship has no rudder.

Why draft Prescott when your attempting to trade for Glennon..

The discussions were before Prescott was chosen. Had the Bucs agreed to the deal, Prescott would not have been picked. The talks fell through, so they chose Prescott.

Two 3rd round picks for Glennon? Too steep for a guy the Bucs didn't feel was good enough either.

I know you can't possibly believe everything you see or hear. If that were the case, make me rich by investing in this primo south Florida coastal real estate sight unseen. ;)

This is just Glennon's agent drumming up interest so he can get this action item off his plate.

I've always liked Glennon and thought he got a raw deal with TB. As a rook, he threw for 2.6k yards, 60% completion rate, 19 TDs and 9 ints. Those are pretty solid numbers for a rookie, especially since he only played 13 games.

I think Glennon can play. No mobility whatsoever though

Dear god, this guy gets sacked like a poker dealer deals cards.

2013: 13 Starts, 416 ATT, 40 (40!!!!) sacks! (sacked every 10.4 attempts!)
2014: 5 Starts, 203 ATT 16 sacks! (sacked every 12.6 attempts!)

Romo's absolute worst year from a quick glance is 15.3 attempts per sack. That is his WORST with a decent sample size and we've had some crappy OL play before all the 1st round picks. His career average is 17.4.

That 10.4 is an EXTREMELY short career terrible sack rate. This kid must be holding on to the ball way way way too long.

Why draft Prescott when your attempting to trade for Glennon..

Assuming this rumor is true, it would be because ..

1) they didn't get Glennon before the 4th round (since they attempted to trade their 2016 third round pick) which is where they drafted Prescott

2) as much as I like the Prescott draft pick, he's a developmental quarterback that the Cowboys will not have a good read on for at least a couple of years

3) even if they were able to trade for Glennon, there's no guarantee he will be successful here so now is the time to carry two potential Romo-replacement quarterbacks on the roster no matter who they are.
