I wouldn't even bother to pirate it. Looks awful. I don't see what Melissa McCarthy's appeal is. She's not funny at all.
Must be her sex appeal... no wait, never mind.

God I hate remakes... I'm down with prequels and sequels but remakes... most of them are just mindless.
"Planet of the Apes"
"Halloween"
"Friday the 13th"
"Texas Chainsaw"
"Evil Dead"
"Dawn of the Dead"
"Poltergeist"
Of that list Texas Chainsaw was the most entertaining.
There was a "Night of the Living Dead" remake done in 1990 that was pretty good.

Update...
"Two weeks after its release, Ghostbusters has yet to make back its production budget."
(Entertainment.ie)
Budget
$144 million
Box office
$135.4 million
(Also, this isn't including promotional costs too. Amazing they are still planning a sequel.)
After its opening weekend, Sony's president of worldwide distribution, Rory Bruer, told The Wrap that "while nothing has been officially announced, there's no doubt in my mind a sequel will happen." He also said that Ghostbusters is expected to become an important Sony franchise.

You don't think they'll clear the last few millions in a few days/weeks?

They need to make about $500 million to break even. They will not come close.
Wikipedia says they have like a $140 mill budget. I would assume marketing is at least that if not 1.5 times that. So imo, they would have to hit $280-$350 to break even.500? Where's that number from? If accurate, yea they won't, but where is it from?

Bill Murray's Ghost Busters, Will Smith's Independence Day, Christian Bale's Batman, Tobey Maguire's Spiderman, Mel Gibson's Mad Max, Jurassic Park, Ben Hur, etc. were not all necessarily great movies, but they brought something extra to the moment they were released that will never be duplicated. Today's generation will have their own movies that to do that, but they will be much less common because we suffer from media overload now where we starved for it in the past.
An all female cast is as bad as making Rhonda Rousey "Dalton" in the Roadhouse remake.
If that gets back to Hollywood and they make it, I'm holding you personally responsible...
I went and saw it. Its pretty funny. I don't let people's opinions on movies sway whether I'll see it or not.
I saw Absolutely Fabulous the movie yesterday, and it was HILARIOUS.
