Could it be that in one single draft...

They got their future quarterback and runningback?

I know its only two preseason games and Im not saying he takes over this season or next.

However, hes going to get better. This guy has a high learning curve. Didnt play around in school, either. In his five years at Mississippi State, got his Master's Degree.

I saw Dez on the sidelines joking with Ezekiel Elliott. I think Dez sees it too, already has rapport with Dak.

Cant wait to see Zeke next week.

I think this is going to be an important season in Cowboy history.

Was it Sportsbabe that posted this after the last game?
Yes by the end of next year this could be called the best
Free Agency era Cowboys draft

Dak can only deal with what his asked to do and those numbers are amazing.

It very well could be if Prescott is really this good and Smith comes back and is that Top 5 talent people thought pre-injury. Even if Collins and Tapper are just so-so, if you get studs in Elliott, Prescott and Smith............ the draft is a home run.

I'll say something blasphemous that was also mentioned by someone else in the game thread. Watching Morris out there and how great our offense already is and can be, did we need Elliott at 4?

Commence fire.

A lot of us said Elliott was a luxury we couldn't afford all along.

We should have added to the defense with that pick. There's no doubt.

What we've seen with Prescott is definitely encouraging, but until the stakes are real, it's tough to know for sure about any rookie. If things go well, we won't really know about Dak for some time.

Can't wait to find out about the rest of this class as well.

Man the Jerry Jones is running the franchise in the ground crowd will seriously have to cheer up.

With our oline, zeke and dez, having Romos successor in the building is HUGE...

We do have some talent on D also, we just need to hope they develop.

I really think most of the doom and gloom is due to anticipation of life after Romo. Right now the future looks bright. Time to forget about the post Aikman era and have some optimism moving forward. And to think so many geniuses on this board stated repeatedly Dak is nothing more than a hopefully developmental back up lol.

I'll quibble with one part.

Some of the doom and gloom isn't just Romo but the defense as well. They still have some issues that need resolving and I don't think it's outrageous to think this defense, even with this great of an offense, could be the weak link in getting to the SB. The offense is SB worthy. The defense? Yet to be determined.

Don't forget Jaylon. If he returns to form, this has the makings of the best draft in Cowboys history.

Let's throw Jaylon Smith in there while we're at it if we're projecting.
I thought about that today....not to get carried away but goodness......this draft has potential to be INSANE. You build your team around Zeke....then if Jaylan...we know his potential is that of a superstar but if he just becomes a solid starter for us.....this draft will really set us up for the next few years. You have a young offensive line and a young core on offense....this could get scary if it works.

Alfred Morris is a very good back but he's got almost 1100 carries in 4 seasons. Just to give you an idea DeMarco Murray's got slightly more than that over 5 seasons. It's a lot of tear on him already. You want several good backs on a team. I like a bit of what Jackson showed early against LA.

I hear you guys say this and I agree 100%. I hear the "Its just preseason crowd" but can someone explain to me why Dak looks better than Goff, Wentz and all of these other guys if its just preseason? Shouldn't they too be killing it?

I agree. But Im looking at our future as a whole and the pieces we have in place should allow us to focus extensively on the defense. Hitting on QB is like holding a winning lotto ticket. Everything looks brighter now.

We definitely did. I'm not a big Morris fan but the guy can play. But he's not the pass blocker that Zeke ALREADY IS just entering the league. I don't like Morris as our lead back but I get excited about the thought of him either coming in for someone that gets hurt or sharing carries with another back and a young one at that.
