Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee, active/PUP) tweeted he has been "cleared" and is "ready to go."

Dunbar's tweet is not clear about what he has been cleared to do, but it sounds like he could be back on the practice field this week. Dunbar reportedly tore both the ACL and patellar tendon in his left knee Week 4 of last season.

Not sure how many care about this but Dunbar is a weapon when hes healthy. He was awesome in the passing game last year. The biggest question is finding enough balls to go around and not being obvious when he is in. Any way to get him on the field at the same time as Zeke or Morris?

I think he's gone. No real need for him

No real need for the guy who was leading in receiving through 3 games last year? I'd say, yes, there is a need. Not sure the fascination people have here for scrubs like Jackson that you can find on any practice squad.

Dunbar is a scatback, someone you can line up on the outside and obviously knows the route trees well in this system. If he's healthy, I see no reason to keep him off the 53.

We have a real problem. Zeke, Al, DMC, Dunbar and Darious....

I don't want to get rid of any of them. I look at the giants and eagles RBS and these guys are as good or better than their 1s.

We have to trade whoever the odd man out is and get something decent. Have to...

Until Zeke proves he can do it, we've got nobody like Dunbar on the roster. He's a unique piece.

That said, we might not have room for him depending where we go deep at other positions.

I like what Dunbar brings to the offense with his speed and versatility but he's just too injury prone......I think either Mcfadden or Dunbar gets traded or released....

I think we either cut the FB to keep 5 RBs or we get a draft pick back for DMC and save some money on his salary.

I like Dunbar but to me its no so much Dunbar as the threat of Dunbar. This offense will be able to run down your throat. Or lob the ball to Dez.. down your throat. Or dump off to Witten down your throat.

You add the Dunbar trick plays where you can hit a 50 yard pass to a RB isolated on a LB - and you have made Zeke, Dez and Witten even better.

That's the thing. He makes you make those decisions when he's in the game. Even if the ball doesn't go to him, he's a valuable matchup piece.

Plus he has some ST value, where not all the backs really do.

That's a good point, he averaged 24 yards per return on Kickoffs last year before he got hurt. Lucky isn't a guy the team should completely depend on to stay healthy for 16 games, Dunbar would be a good fallback option.

I do not think Jackson is a scrub. Dunbar has teased about his potential for years. Would it be nice to have versatile player on the roster, sure but for half a season come on. I could care less if he was the second coming of Marshall Faulk he cannot stay healthy

Odd man out bruh. Darius is pushing him further down the depth chart.
