Rumors are Denver may axe him for the other two qbs on their roster. Dak is the guy right now, but it's something to keep an eye out. Sanchez could be a decent backup for Prescott until Romo gets healthy.

I honestly was thinking the exact same thing. Had heard rumors of him being released, he probably would be the best backup Dallas could get without trading any draft picks. I do NOT want to trade draft picks for a backup to Dak. Give him his reps and if he struggles then we can use those draft picks next year.

He isn't really good. He's an average QB but seems like a decent guy with a good attitude. I wouldn't mind him as a 3rd stringer . Would rather have him than Mccown.

Most of the time, them "average" guys are the best you can probably get as a backup. There's a reason why they are backing up, not starting.

I think Austin Davis or Sanchez would be nice backup options for Dallas. You can win games with Sanchez if he has to come in for 1 or 2 games. I think he could also help Dak as well.

normally these threads make me cry much like pulling a nose hair by mistake.

oh who am i kidding. you never pull those by mistake.

in any event, we're gonna need someone now.

I get it but at this point, beggars can't be choosers. It's not a completely horrible option. Judging him on this play alone is just as dumb as judging Romo on the seattle bobble.
Actually, I'm not against Sanchez. He'd be 100 times better than Kellen Moore :D even though I heard somewhere Kellen Moore had a 400+ yard game .. that he lost.

I would still rather have a younger player like Austin Davis though.

Yea agreed it could be worse. Like giving up a 3rd for Mccown . I wouldn't mind Sanchez or Davis . Like I said Sanchez seems like a bright guy with a good attitude, he's just limited physically ( which most backups are).

I'm still thinking Jared Lorenzan, aka the "pillsbury throwboy" maybe the answer

I don't think Dak needs that to rub off onto him. They do need someone to be the back up tho, will see.

I hope we give Showers the entire game next week to see what he's got. Regardless of how that turns out though, I suspect we need a veteran behind Dak for the foreseeable future.

Sanchez is borderline terrible, but he might very well be the best available.

I prefer Austin Davis. Just don't give up any draft picks. Without our defensive ends starting in the first four games, the season could be over before they come back.

At this point what do you expect ? I don't think foles is much better and we wanted him so . I don't like giving up draft picks. Just sign Sanchez or someone similar with starting experience. It's really only for a couple weeks.

Define decent.

Well Sanchez could actually help Dak a lot as a rookie considering he went to the AFC title game as a rookie.
