I think so too. I think he has and does smoke pot. But PROVING it in a way to force him to be under the league's drug policy is a different matter.

You seem hung up on this. What makes you think the league needs proof?

Prohibition TOOK something that was legal and made it illegal.......it also cost the economy and govt millions and made the Mob more powerful than the Police

Marijuana is still illegal because most people still use it to get high **.......all the medicinal reasons and uses for hemp are just part of lobbying effort to get it mainstream and legalized.....and alcohol still can't be abused in public or used in a car or several other restrictions but you can have a drink or two and not be drunk.......apples and oranges imo

I agree with that but at the same time it's also true.

And this is his GF releasing the text message publicly correct?

I don't think so. I think it was evidence presented in determining if he was guilty of any of the assault allegations and came out as a result of their exchanged text messages.

Pretty much this.

These are text message from his ex-girlfriend, the same one who accused him of assault. I doubt these messages are new or recent.

A football player that has been away from training for a few months and has a weigh in that could hurt his draft stock would shed pounds in a sauna. For all we know Zeke could have been 245 and people can dehydrate themselves to 220 in a sauna.
Of course its not real weight and only for dropping pounds for the sake of a scale.

However I have never heard of someone sweating pot out of their system. Not even sure if its possible. (I know nothing about pot or drug test btw).

Don't the players all get weighed and drug tested at the combine?
Does anyone know if these text were for the scouting combine or another time when he would be tested and weighed.

Its a bad look either way.
It's not possible to sweat pot out or even cocaine. Alcohol is about it. I'm leaning towards your theory, needed to shed weight or clear the booze out of him in order to exercise after a hard weekend of partying? Wouldn't blame him for that; he's just sweating out the toxins from booze aka the Gronk method.

The NFL would know exactly when he took the test and it usually at the Combine in Feb

Its not really about how many people smoke it or how ridiculous it is that Marijuana is a schedule 1 drug in the same class as heroin or lsd. If it was up to this fan wed all go home and smoke a bowl after work instead of punishing our livers. The fact is it is tested for by the nfl and professionals football players need to quit smoking and act like pros. I can believe many in the nfl have smoked at one point but to think a large percentage currently smoke would be a bit unrealistic in my opinion. THC stays in your system from 4-6 weeks and most blocking agents or dilluters are iffy at best. The NFL would have to be giving players 6 weeks of advanced notice before testing or the testers would have to be looking the other way when urine samples came out florescent green.
Stepnoski referenced the "anonymous tipsters" or anonymous phone calls he received as well. You can smoke all year, and stop about 6 weeks before the initial summer test. If you test clean and aren't in the program; can smoke all year til next summer's 6 week Hollywood cleanse. It would be pretty easy actually. I lean towards Gregory having a mental illness that he uses MJ to pacify. You can change that with cognitive therapy and he could even smoke again once that issue is cleared up; for his sake he should wait for retirement, he blew his chance at weed AND NFL like most players.

NFL players only get tested one time a year.........either in late April at OTAs or in late July at training camp

If you pass you are good for the year.......if you fail you just have to stop for 90 days and you are back out of the testing program

Smokes 'em on the field ... and off. :D
He'll be the new Nigel from "The Replacements" and I've got a mental pic of him breaking loose for a long TD with little puffs of smoke coming out of his helmet. Friends sending him "did ypu score" texts will need clarification.

Some people just can't stay out of the spotlight for the wrong reasons

I hope Zeke is not one of them

Stepnoski referenced "anonymous" tipsters to the team to clean up. Maybe he was in the program or got that information via Irvin or Lett?

I have read many comments by players over the years that say that only idiots get caught for pot in drug tests in the NFL. I believe I even remember them saying there was a safe point for players, date-wise, that once it passed, you would no longer be tested as long as you had never failed a drug test before and were not in the system already. Once a player fails a drug test, they get tested regularly the entire year.
I betcha Stepnoski new that date lol.
