TNF: Pats vs Texans Game Thread

possibly but I highly doubt it. I thought the twitter numbers were low last week?

The nfl overall ratings for the first two weeks are down though and it makes sense since there is no Brady, Manning or Romo.

There is almost no buzz around this season. There seemed to be no big payback games and not heated rivalries sans pittsburgh and cincy and that game was a noon regional game sunday.

Thursday Night Football has never really pulled in big numbers. Nothing has really happened for people to lose interest from last season to now. I would say, I know plenty of people fed up with the Sunday Ticket package and i strongly believe people are now finding alternatives to watch games. I frequent the Reddit NFL streams threads, and it has had an incredible uptick in activity recently, and that's just one preferred avenue to stream games.

The only thing I can think of that is putting the NFL on a backburner right now for some people is the political climate, football being in the hottest months of the POTUS race certainly can't be a positive.

But it could all come down to matchups, I don't think there has been any truly great matchups the first few weeks of the season and it's true, kinda feels like the NFL is transitioning and finding some new faces for the league. Newton is leading it right now, and there are some young guys with the potential. All in all, I think the NFL is just fine and i still believe it's just Sunday Ticket killing viewership.

EDIT: Just reading up on the cord cutters (People ridding of cable), and while it's just correlation, I'm going to say this is playing a huge factor as well. NFL really needs to implement a subscription type streaming service soon. Sunday Ticket is outdated.

great tackling, great routes, great punting, dbs not lost in space, no turnovers, great pass blocking, excellent pass rush.....this is depressing to watch. no idea how we'd beat this team in a potential super bowl match in the next few years.

Emotion.

That is the one thing that I think has beaten them. Teams that have that emotional edge.

You know, like thinking that he is not a Jedi master and don't give up.

I think that happens a lot. Coaches aren't equipped and when they lose their minds, the players follow suit.

It's delusional to even think about reaching a Super Bowl with our current Cowboys team. Even assuming that miracle happened, what you're seeing tonight in NE is a demonstration of what would be waiting for us there. A team that would **** slap us.

There has to be cheating involved with that TD as well.

It's not like this 3rd stringer has even looked impressive, can't imagine what the score would be if Brady was out there
