Which position scares you the most on this current roster?

Edge, DT, LB, CB, S

T, RB, TE

Cornerback/Edge positional groups worry me the most:

-They have a lot of young, unproven talent that are in that developmental stage. EZ, Lawrence, Revel, Carson, Moore. What is their plan if they are slow to develop?

-As we all know, Edge position has a steep learning curve from college to the pro level. Most take 2-3 years to become productive players. We have to keep low expectations from Lawrence in his rookie season and EZ missing the entire offseason will hurt his development. Will they be better or worse then last season generating pressure?

-Corner remains fully of question marks: Can Bland return to form, will he even be healthy to play a full season? Revel is basically a green rookie after missing most of last season. Carson is another one who has struggled to stay healthy but also has struggles against deep speed. Durant the new comer probably has the least issues. I am just not sure if this team has a true #1 corner on this roster.
In order: CB, LB, LT

I’m not taking your opinions as facts.
And that's OK. However, I'm sure you're aware that stats are not everything. I've been watching the NFL for decades, and that's what I've observed. Look at the last super bowl. Yet another team wins it w/o a standout edge rusher. And a great interior w/ Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, and Murphy. That's the last two super bowls dominated by interior pressure.

Here's a fact for you. Tom Brady publicly proclaimed that the interior rush is by far the hardest to handle for a QB!!!!

3 super bowls back: Chris Jones, NNadi, and Karlaftis were just nasty inside.

Facts are your friends!!!!!!

Kicker. The magic has worn off for Aubrey and now he has the yips.

.....this position been bugging me for while. ;)..

OT Tyler guyton that guy needs to become a man in a hurry,

He's definitely one guy who if he spits the bit could make the wheels come off the wagon

LB

The two biggest positions of concern as of June are:
  • Left Tackle. If Tyler Guyton doesn’t show major and I do mean major improvement, we have a gaping hole at the most important position on the OL.
  • LB- we have some improved talent here but still light at this position.
There’s still time to add help. But those two positions are weaknesses for sure.

Gary is a stud.

Surely we can find one guy who can play among EZ, Malachi, or even Barham?
Gary is not a stud. He’s a bit above average and his modest sack total doesnt come off him beating his man.

He gets sacks from cleaning up broken plays and burst pressure from other pass rushers.

He’s good at sticking with a play and tackling running QBs before they make it to the line of scrimmage.

He’s not much of a difference maker and his role as our “best” edge speaks volumes about how we still haven’t improved two years running

Until training camp and pre-season starts, everybody on the team is unproven until everyone gets a chance to play together. Especially since you have a new DC and the defense has been pretty much overhauled. Of course we hope Guyton and Steele improve from last year but for people to say "(so and so) is going to suck this year" without knowing how their training camp and pre-season went would be a little pre-mature.

It’s easily offensive tackle for me.

If that position struggles, it could potentially cost you your starting quarterback. And if that happens, the season is over.

I’m cautiously optimistic that both Guyton and Steele will improve, but also concerned if that doesn’t happen.

Agreed. Guyton is young but hasn't quite yet ever played to the point of, "who, there may be something there" to me. To be fair, after Tyron Smith, it's a tough guy to follow. But him being injured in back to back seasons and being raw in some areas doesn't give me great confidence.
Steele was always below average or average at best in pass blocking. Post leg injury it's been a slow build back to what he was. Run blocking he's good, but our best weapons on offense are receivers, and we are still going to throw it a lot unless we have a solid lead going into the 4th.

Same,,, we desperately need a LT that can hold his own in pass protection so that we can send help to Steele's side when needed, I just don't think he's going to improve in that respect, he is what he is. Maybe the new OL guru consultant can make a difference
