You all realize we only beat Chicago right?

I am proud of this teams performance yesterday but I don't think most of you realize how bad Chicago is. With the injuries they have they'll be competing with Clevland for the #1 pick. I'm usually not the debbie downer guy and I am proud of how this team performed but I expected this team to win yesterday. I mean if the game was close yesterday then I'd really be worried. Some of the posts I'm reading on here are the same as when we beat Seatle back in 2014. The real test for this team will be weeks 5 and 6 when we play Cincinnati and Green Bay but until then hold back on the Super Bowl runs and Dak over Romo conversations.

We beat Chicago's B team. Cutler was out, Jeffery was hurt, and about half of the defense missed the game. That said, we looked good and there is room for optimism. I think the SB talk is more about the NFC than the Cowboys. Plug Romo, Lawrence, McClain, and Gregory in the lineups and I wouldn't call it crazy to suggest we've got a shot. CAR and AZ haven't looked very good, and they projected to be the two biggest obstacles. That said, I wouldn't be surprised by us going 8-8 and missing the playoffs either.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess people can't be happy about a win these days.
My post obviously negative and I should of made it clear that I am happy with the win but my point is beating Chicago isn't the same as beating Seattle.

You realize that bad or not Chicago is still an NFL team with NFL players right?

I swear some people simply shouldn't ever open their mouths, or use their fingers, when it comes to football because with all the years and years of evidence that can be used to show that it's not easy winning in the NFL, regardless of who you're playing, people still don't get that.

And another one bites the dust.

A win is a win. I thought it should have been a bigger win, but at the end of the day when we look at the end of the year it is just a matter of trying to get to 10 wins.
Next week is going to be interesting. They should be SF. Although going on the road to get a win is usually a hard fought game. SF was humiliated yesterday. Dallas won a relatively easy game. In years past they have ate the cheese only to be hit in the mouth the following week.

Great info! Thanks! Wish we could have this before the game.

Its nice to have someone clarify if we can enjoy a win or not. I never know how to feel.

I'm gonna have to talk to Jerry about putting these cup cakes on our schedule just to move up in the polls

Shoot, in years past this Cowboys team would've played a close game no matter how bad the opponent. The fact that they won handily still matters. Nobody's acting like they just won the super bowl. But they did win the next game that was on the schedule, and that's what you have to do.

You do realize we are most recently a 4-12 team. That is our reality. You do realize that we just witnessed Matt Cassell, Brandon Weeden and broken up/less than stellar tony Romo last year? You do realize that we haven't won a home game in over a year? We've created a turnover in every game thus far. It's called progress and optimism. A lot should be said of beating a team you should and winning the turnover battle.
