You all realize we only beat Chicago right?

You know what my point was: Chicago is awful and was destroyed by injury when we played them.
Right... i understand that but what your forgetting when you say that is that this is our B team as well. For as well as Dak is playing.... he is our backup qb and a rookie at that. We were counting on Ro McClain as MLB but he wanted to move on to his pot career. Scandrick is our best CB no matter how well Claiborne is playing and he was out. We lost Tyrone for Chaz Green.... remember people wanted him cut before this game. I also forgot to mention DLaw our starting DE. For every injury that Chicago has... so do we and we stomped their b team with our b team. I don't mean to be mean but I get defensive when it seems people delegitimize what we did because the other team has missing players. So do we.

I'd love to hear your theory on that one......

They were up 3 with first and goal with 10 minutes left. Cousins missed at least two TD tosses in the game. I'm sure there are plenty more I could point to as well.

My point was that every close game has a few plays both ways that you could use to say "we should have." Most fanbases only look at the ones that go their way, but that's usually not accurate.

Does that distinction really need to be made, though? In order for us to make the playoffs, we have to win with our B team. That's who we are right now. Beating the Chicago B team, in a vacuum, does nothing to suggest that we'll hold up against better teams. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited too. More for what went right than the fact that we beat, potentially, the worst team in the league with backup QB and half of their defense missing.

Minor nitpick: Scanrick hasn't been close to our best CB this year and likely won't be close to his old self until next season.

I'm not entirely sure we can't contend for the playoff's in our division with our B team. Much as I love Dak, Romo is still better. Tyrone hasn't been healthy all year. I was wondering what his issue is... now I know. Get him healthy and there is an improvement there also. Get DLaw back and a healthy Scandrick and suddenly you have to respect our defense. You see where I'm going with this? Our b team is keeping us in it until we can get our A team back. By all accounts, also, Nzechoa was on pace to be our starting MLB as well. Elliotte is only getting better... look out. Take the wins and enjoy them when we can get them.

I don't think there is a real difference of opinion here. I think it's fair for the OP to say "It was the Bears" and I think it's fair for others to say "The NFC doesn't look strong and we might have a shot." I actually hold both of those beliefs, as I pointed out in my first comment. So yeah, let's enjoy them. Let's also point out that our one decisive win came against the injured Bears, so there's potential that our optimism will be proven premature.

You do realize we are most recently a 4-12 team. That is our reality. You do realize that we just witnessed Matt Cassell, Brandon Weeden and broken up/less than stellar tony Romo last year? You do realize that we haven't won a home game in over a year? We've created a turnover in every game thus far. It's called progress and optimism. A lot should be said of beating a team you should and winning the turnover battle.
We have had 50% of the success of all of last year in 3 games this year. I don't care if it's the Bears or not. Eagles beat a injury bitten team in Pittsburgh and they're not apologizing about their win. Decent teams should be able to beat bad teams. We're a decent team and we beat a team we should beat. We didn't play down to their level and make it close. We beat them.

We're not 2014, at least not yet. Don't forget in 2014 there wasn't a lot of optimism in the first month of the season. We got gangster slapped all over AT&T stadium by the Niners in Game 1, barely beat the titan's, was down heavily against the Rams and Texans. Won both of those games and then got our confidence in Seattle and went on to have a good season. So it doesn't matter how you get wins or who against. getting wins back to back and stringing a couple of wins together will get you momentum and confidence.

Also each game it seems like we're getting better. New York we seemed to move the ball well but not score and not complete the game. Washington our running game started coming on and our defense closed out the skins. Last night our running game was excellent, Dak played great, defense did well. If not for Terrence Williams fumble the score would have been more lopsided.

Dak is a rookie and hasn't turned the ball over once and is getting better each game. That in itself is optimistic and gives hope for this season and the future. What a difference between this year and last year with Weeden playing. Dak is a gift that I didn't expect to get. I'm loving that kid.
