You all realize we only beat Chicago right?

I am proud of this teams performance yesterday but I don't think most of you realize how bad Chicago is. With the injuries they have they'll be competing with Clevland for the #1 pick. I'm usually not the debbie downer guy and I am proud of how this team performed but I expected this team to win yesterday. I mean if the game was close yesterday then I'd really be worried. Some of the posts I'm reading on here are the same as when we beat Seatle back in 2014. The real test for this team will be weeks 5 and 6 when we play Cincinnati and Green Bay but until then hold back on the Super Bowl runs and Dak over Romo conversations.

Most of us believe this team has high upside so it's not about beating Chicago and more about the team collecting a win.

We have some big games down the road that can change everyones perception of the team. Yesterday was just a step to getting us where we want to go.

It's not the ncaa. You play the team they put in front of you.
Dallas didn't schedule the Bears and pay them $500k for a win.

A win is a win...I don't care who it is against...The Bears cash NFL paychecks just like everyone else...

Regardless of who they played there were some exciting things to me.

- Dak continues to show the game is not too big for him. They sent every type of blitz imaginable at him and he was not phased.
- Green stepped up and did a nice job for Smith.
- Williams finally showed up
- Nice rub routes with Witten and Beasley
- The secondary made some nice plays, Claiborne and Jones are players
- Zeke showing he is coach-able and an all around back. His pass blocking was more impressive than the 140 yards to me.

Enjoying the win and being optimistic is just a positive aspect of the fan experience, one that Cowboys fans honestly did not get to do much of last season. Dallas may have lucked into a great young QB/RB combo in one draft, has the offense looking better each week and the defense is actually playing sufficient in spite of some major shortage in talent. Enjoy the win, the week and the wave of optimism.

And you do realize we should have had 40 points, we have no pass rush, we are VERY soft up the middle, we were w/o 3 starters .... so in other words yes this was the Bears but it is not like we are an elite team.

Thanks for coming here to try and make sure fans are not too happy with their Sunday.
We can't have cowboys fans being optimistic or excited after a win. That would fly in the face of why we spend so much time watching and following our favorite football team....to be entertained...

Look man., I'm sorry you are not enjoying this form of entertainment as much as some.
But why try to rain on others parade?

Lighten up and enjoy the ride. You never know how many more rides you will get.

Again I'm not against being happy about the win. That's not what this thread is about but I opened my mouth so I'll take my negative nancy beating.

We are finally showing we aren't totally reliant on one man to win. I don't care how beat up the opposing teams are. We aren't exactly healthy either. We very easily could be 3-0. I'll take it. My hopes are we just keep improving week to week.

Every week is a test in the NFL, I'm sure Carolina fans felt they would be better this season same with Cards but this is the NFL you have to be ready each and every week ask Seahawk fan after losing to the Rams. Dallas did go out and win and did so fairly handily

Sure Bears have injuries just as Dallas has had to deal with injuries and suspension

With all the doom and gloom we had over last season, the offseason and seeing Romo go down for the 3rd time in a year, I don't care if we beat FAMU. I'll take it, with glee. Glad our team did not play down to the Bears level, Dak continues to impress and Zeke had a very good game.

We played their B team?

The Cowboys played them with a rookie quarterback instead of a multiple Pro Bowler, a rookie RB instead of last season's 1000 yard rusher, no starting DE's, a missing starting LB, a missing nickel CB and the left side of the O-line on the bench.

And the Cowboys won by double digits.

Yeah, let's keep things in perspective. The NFL ain't seen nothin' yet....and they know it.

We played as you said with a Rookie QB, Rookie RB and 2 OL players not playing the full game and scandrick inactive for the game. Bears have problems? so do the Cowboys but the games will still be played and Cowboys went out and beat the Bears pretty easy.

I had no idea whom we played last night until I opened this thread. Thank you so much for that observation and clarification that we played Chicago.

I just don't get this longing for Romo who represents a decade of futility, who is long on the tooth, fragile and in reality stands a bigger chance of being named LSU's new coach than taking this team to the playoffs.
It simply won't happen.
With Dak, the bare minimum is that, unlike Romo, he can take a hit. That is basic to a QB.
Also, youth is basic.
Dak will stumble, as did Romo. But I am enjoying the ride for now.
Speaking of now, the future is now, not in replaying on our VCRs Romo's 2 career playoff wins in a decade of frustrating Decembers.

finally, after seeing it done your team time and time again, it is about time we did some rub/pick routes
