Marinelli seems to fall in love with high motor wit marginal production. Is this Crawford?

Discuss.

Crawford is a pretty good player for what he is. Teams all need role players to step up. I was surprised he didn't get a reasonable FA offer and bolt last year. He's the right age/effort/skill level to get a deal from somebody.

Marinelli is playing what he has, he will be a rotational guy once Lawrence and hopefully Davis take over the DE position, which will fit him well.

He most definitely is not nick Hayden. Jack Crawford doesn't even have a nickname lol
Seriously though, there are games where he makes a few plays.

No . . . Jack Crawford is better than Hayden ever was in two (count 'em, 2) respects. He's much better as a pass rusher and at least equal in terms of being a reliable run stopper. Jack would likely be insulted if he knew anyone accused him of being at that level. I don't care what Marinelli says -- Golden Cock wasn't all that and that's a fact, Jack! :)

The Jets and Steelers had interest they both brought him in I believe, he is a solid rotational backup, should not be starting.

This is it.

He's getting too many quality snaps and it's showing... his play so far this season has been abysmal.

Jack is good for about 3-4 sacks per season, Hayden about 1...

And he didn't get an offer from either.

I am not sure we know that, he said he came back to the boys because he felt more comfortable here which could suggest he had other offers, but either way he is a solid backup rotational piece. Think he was the second best D lineman through 2 weeks, did not play well in game 3.

He definitively should not be in a starting role.

Give me more Davis @ DE.

Like most have stated I think he's a solid rotational guy that's will get you some pressure but he's being asked to do far more than he's capable of.

Far superior to what Nick Hayden was.

So they just brought him in for tea and crumpits? They clearly had interests in him to bring him in.

Not only that but he probably had more a chance at playing time here as opposed to the Jets and Steelers. Especially the Jets.

He is simply playing too many snaps. Irving needs to play more. I believe Sturm has him with the second highest number of splash plays on the season.

This ^^^

He's playing far too many snaps because our guys like to do drugs.

The only thing I see that they have in common is they are both rotational players that were forced into a much larger roll than what they really should have had.

Exactly, he is a good backup at 3T that is playing out of position at DE because (in case fans missed this) we have better players that are suspended or injured.

Not that any of that will stop this from being a 20 page thread.
