Joe Buck: "And They May Have Finally Called One on Chaz Green"

One thing I believe is that the calls are biased, but toward close games instead of being for one team or another. That call with Dak happened when SF was up by 14 points, if Dallas punts there and SF goes into the half up by 17 the audience turns off the game - and the NFL loses millions of dollars in advertising revenue.

If you look out for it, the bad calls or close calls always seem to happen in order to keep the game close.

I agree that it looks that way. I can't remember how many times I've seen a phantom call and felt it was the refs keeping the game from getting out of hand. But I don't have any data to back it up, just perception.

Troy actually said(deep in the 4th) that "it looks like the play of the game is that call on Tart". I couldn't believe my ears. He's gone off the deep end now...

Whatever else is true about this game, that was a totally sh***y call. As a fan of the game, it hurt to see that one.

I noticed it several years ago and it may be confirmation bias, but I swear every bad call or ticky tack call is exactly that kind of thing. I'm sure you could look at the scores also and see that the number of blowout scores have gone way down in the last 5 years from what happened in the past.

So these four "clear" ones....can you post gifs or at the very least time in the game?

I remember that it looked like there was one on the first drive. Don't remember the play, but it looked bad when it happened. I'll download the game later and look out for them when I re-watch it.

Buck and Aikman almost cost us the game. Whà whà

Wow, troll much? Buck and Aikman have always been difficult to watch calling Cowboy games. Buck is a moron and Aikman is always out to prove hes not a homer by completely overcompensating. Weve listened to thier crap long enough to vent about it after a victory. Whining is what happens after a loss. Try and keep up.

Sounds like you think they didnt occur...like for some absurd reason I would make it up.
I'm just glad they weren't called.

I don't go around searching for gifs of false starts ( of all things) unless maybe I was on the losing end and pissed about it.
Which I'm not

Is it just me or does anyone else notice the microsecond early starts by (mostly) left tackles that go uncalled throughout the league? I think Chaz might be pushing the envelope a little but I see left tackles hop up early all the time with no call.

It's all positions on the line all game long for every team. Somebody moves early multiple times per team per game, sometimes it's multiple players per play. It all happens on the order of 0.0x seconds before the snap, which is too small to be noticed by a human's reaction time, but video picks it up easily.

The emphasis on illegal snaps this season is a delayed reaction by at least a decade as well.

Source: I can watch video frame by frame pretty trivially.

I have never seen an announcer root so heavily for a team ever. The first td, I thought he was going to jump out of the booth he was so excited.
I thought they do a good job. Why do you think Buck was rooting for 49ers? You must want a Homer to broadcast the games huh.

I think Buck follows Troy's lead,,, and Troy is hell-bent on making sure he doesn't appear to be a Cowboys homer.

You play with kids? Where's Chris Hansen when you need him?
You guys are 18 and above.

All the time. Cry to yourselves

I cannot believe that seasoned NFL commentators and one HoF quarterback simply assume he's jumping early because he moves before the line does. If you look at each one, he moves the same exact time the ball moves. Just because he's the first to move does not make him a false start penalty. If anything, they need to ask why the rest of the line is a little slow off the snap.

Now, I am not saying he isn't ever moving too soon because I don't have a video of each play, but two of those they showed of him "jumping early" were ones where he moved the exact same moment the ball started to be snapped.

It may just be that he's moving on the count .. you know .. how guys farther away from the quarterback, usually with the side of their backs to the ball have to do.

I thought I heard they moved to a silent count too. Could be a big reason.

looked like it was all silent count, that is why martin kept moving and i think letting fred know and then the snap.

could be wrong though it may have only been occasionally.
