I don't think anyone being logical and not having an agenda could argue that Romo would not have more yards through the air and more passing TDs right now.
However at the same time I don't think the same group could argue that he would have zero INTS.

I don't know that Tony would have more yards at all. Dak is on pace for a 4,000 yard season. That's on par with a much younger, healthier Tony.

You were so close to being funny there. Too bad what I wrote wasn't worded in a way where that joke makes sense.

Not hilariously funny but perhaps snicker material. They cant all be home runs. I did however find the Staubach reference pretty good.

I think people are missing the bigger picture when they talk about who is better QB overall today. It's about not slowing down or stopping the progress of a rookie who already looks amazing and who has built so much chemistry with the tream, right now.

The future with Dak is far more important than finishing this one with Romo.

I disagree with that. Dak's future isn't going to lose any luster if he starts 8 games as a rookie rather than 16.

And you don't sit better players so developmental guys get playing time on a playoff team. If you did Doug Free, Hitchens and Claiborne would be benched so Green, Nzeocha and Brown could play.

What happened in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015? Why should 2014 and only 2014 be looked at to say Romo should get his job back? Romo has had a decade and we have nothing to show for it. He cannot see the field unless Dak faulters. Period! Anything else would simply be insane and would risk throwing the season away and fracturing the lockeroom. Nobody expected Dak to play this well but here we are. You don't bench a winning QB for an over the hill inconsistent QB who has never led the team to anything!

I don't think either of us know what effect sitting the hot handed rookie could have. And I think you very much sit a better player, if it's only slightly so, for a rookie who already looks to be a franchise QB.

Not sure how anyone could possibly compare Romo to Prescott. It's night and day right now. Will this kid continue to improve? Absolutely. Is he at Romo's level? Not even close. When Romo returns, the offense will open up, we'll be able to pass down field, and Elliott's production will increase even more.

Stunning how short people's memory's are and the media certainly doesn't want to help.

How does the offense open up when Romo returns and Ds no longer have to worry about the QB running? If anything, it helps the opposing Ds.....

It sounds like we're pretty much in agreement, then, that if we have 2014-quality Romo, everybody's cool with the possible QB upgrade, at least. That's pretty much where I come down. See how good Dak can become with the reps, then play whichever guy is better. My expectation is that that guy is Romo, but if he's lost enough or is rusty enough and that guy is deemed to be Dak--or if the staff even thinks Dak's not quite as good as Romo yet but he's on a trajectory to be better by the end of this season--then you go with Dak. Either way, count your blessings because we have insurance at QB for the first time in forever, and both dudes are very talented in their own rights and very much team-first players who won't let this become a controversy inside the locker room (no matter what turds fly outside the locker room between fans).

You've got a choice between Luke Skywalker and Neo. When last season it was the dude from My Left Foot. Just be happy about it.

Dak is 21st in the league in passing yards per game, 7th in yards per attempt, and has a whopping 4 passing touchdowns in 5 games... 29th in the league...

It's this kind of continued disrespect that makes me cringe at "fan" ignorance. If Dak had been playing on those down years he wouldn't be enjoying the fawning and adulation he's getting now... he'd be getting trashed by these same people.

Let's be honest here. What have Romo really done for this franchise? Nothing but a couple of playoff wins. Why is everyone hyping this guy or situation like it's Joe Montana/Steve Young? If we had some rings or heck consistent playoff berths with Romo under center then I can understand the loyalty.

Why are you leaving out his rushing TD's? Passing TD's or rushing TD's count for the exact same amount of points. They are still TD's scored by the QB.

Also, why did you fail to mention where he ranks in QB rating?

They said in all of preseason this year he was looking better than he had in 3-4 years.

Yeah a good 2 years remove from that back injury and a lot of rest. But guess what? He hurt his back again. I don't know what this guy will look like on game day.

There are a lot of Romo haters that ignore the stats/ignore the fact that for most of his career he was without a defense or running game.. A lot of people who know how good Romo has been are seeing how fragile his body is & are worried about him coming back and playing scared, and making poor decisions based on fearing a hit. Plus they are excited that we have a chance to be really good for years to come with a QB finally in place that has the poise and confidence of Dak, so it's easy to see why people are ready to move on.

It has nothing to do with fans or their memory ....... this is about Romo's body not being able to be a NFL QB.

His mind and instincts are great ....... his body cannot even take simple tackles anymore.
