Howie Long's quote about Dallas D

No. A struggling offense makes a defense look better than they are. Nobody said Dallas' D is terrible, but that the reason they look as good as they do might be partially do to the offenses they are playing.

Isn't that true of every team, or does it just apply to the Cowboys?

Okay offensive line? Packers have one of the best in the game. Regardless of how you feel about the defensive line, this secondary is playing lights out and their a huge reason this defense has been playing well.

It appears as though the defensive backs are playing elite football right now. Even Wilcox has played better than prior years. I did hate to see him miss some tackles in the Green Bay game by trying to tackle them by throwing a shoulder into them.

Maybe just maybe we are part of the reason?

We cover well, play good redzone defense and create turnovers.

I don't know. You go back and watch that GB game, for example, and Rodgers missed some EASY throws and we barely touched him for much of the game. If that's Rodgers of 2 years ago, that game is a barnburner on Sunday.

Still need a better pash rush but we have a couple playmakers on the front four, what more can you ask ?

I have to ask, when the heck did we learn to cover so well?
Byron Jones' play in my view has elevated that entire secondary. He's unbelievable.

What do you think about working a trade for Cameron Wake prior to the deadline? I think we can get him for a reasonable conditional pick and he appears fully back from his injury. AND he has a history of getting to Tom Brady - if you catch my meaning ;) ;)

oddly this has been his MO since last year's debacle at Denver. Not sure what switch was flipped but Aaron is having a hard time flipping it back.

Of course, it's true of every team. But not every team plays struggling offense after struggling offense after struggling offense.

There aren't mant teams as good as we are. Part of teams looking bad is that we are also making them look bad. What people don't get is that when you root for a team, you see all the warts. When you don't there are things you miss. Other teams have far more problems than we do ..... for a change.

They've been going up against offenses that have been struggling.

GB's offense didn't struggle against the Jags (27pts), Lions(34pts) or the Giants(23pts). GB's offense isn't what it used to be but it's not like it's a bad offense like ours was last year.

Two teams they "struggled" to score more than 20 points were against us (16pts) and the Vikings(14pts).

And honestly the game plan used against the pack looked like the line was instructed to maintain discipline and not let ARod get outta the pocket. It was similar to what the Giants did. Some struggles were the Packers doing but the Cowboys defense had a hand in the struggles as well.

This defense is playing much better even compared to 2014. I've noticed many times QBs can't find an open man and they take off running. Thats a sign our defense is dictating our opponents offense. Not the other way around.

On another note we used to never turn around to play the ball in the air. Never. Even going back to the days of Zimmer.

For some odd reason ALL of DBs have a knack to play the ball in the air this year. Even Wilcox.

Hats off to the coaches for that.

So what teams could be considered top tier offense?

New England and Atlanta?

We all thought the Bengals and Packers would score big with high flying passing attacks. The secondary isn't just overachieiving, it is EXCELLING.

Some of you guys obviously just need something to ***** about.

So because people expected a team to be good offensively, then reality doesn't matter? We should just go by the expectation? The fact that GB is near the bottom of the league offensively (especially passing) is irrelevant?

Not exactly. But people build a narrative and then just flip everything when reality doesn't match the narrative anymore.

Green Bay and Cincinnatiare going to throw all over us.

They get beat.

Oh, they suck anyway and their offense isn't good and was never good.

Our defense has played well enough to win, but I do have concerns about our pass rush. Rodgers had all day.

Our only sacks are coverage sacks, which is impressive. This secondary has been excellent!
