Twitter: Doug Free got a salary adjustment

But he is much better than fans give him credit for. As tackles go around the leave he is much better than about half which being middle of the pack is not baf

funny how everyone is a Olineman snob now. As if you can have first round picks at every position and pay all these guys pro bowl money.

Dallas is 5-1, and it is the bye week. Some fans need something to complain about. If it's not the defense or pass rush, Wilcox, used to be about Mo, throw some Jerry and Jason in there.
So they revert back to Doug Free.
Enjoy the success to this point.

Reminds of the yearly reviews at work places. You can do 1000 right, save the companies money, but yet they need to find that one minor thing to put on your review to negate all the good so you can't get a merit increase in pay, or get a lower one. That one negative thing can be, you were late 2 minutes one day due to a traffic accident. Regardless that everyone else was 5 minutes late. Which was not on their review.

Wilcox does stink. LOL

That being said, there isnt too much to complain about these days. But people do seem to still be nit picking at Dak Prescott and clawing for the return of Romo. Romo would be 6-0 right now if he didnt break his back right?

any ideas on why a move like this at this point of the season would be done? If they're already under the cap, albeit a relatively small amount, why would it be needed to add another mil in cap space? Possibly a proactive move to prepare for an inevitable injury?

Is Free on the level of Smith, Fredrick, Martin nope but he is what he is an avg to above avg OT, I think his replacement is on the roster and once he gets the footwork flip taken care of Green will be a starting RT. As for those thinking Collins or Martin at RT I think the staff has tried this and neither one is nimble footed enough plus other things. Good tackles are harder to find than good guards. Bad interior guys are easier to hide than bad tackles.

Maybe some escalators or bonuses they may need to pay out at the end of the year.

Dude is the worse lineman in Dallas.

Not. Hell, at this point in his career. Collins is worse than Free. Leary makes this line better than Collins did and Collins can't beat Free out for the RT position.

Man you guys can't follow the bouncing ball. This isn't about Doug Free's level of play. It is about cap room. Pay attention peeps.

I don't know what they plan to do with the cap room, but things just got slightly more flexible in terms of the cap. By itsself it probably is meaningless, but if you start seeing more of these small moves, the plot thickens.

Free is not the best...but our other olineman have been quoted as saying he's the leader of their group. If he's leading the way for all pros as far as work ethic and professionalism I'll take that as my fourth or fifth lineman.

You need a new job..

he deserves money that he was guaranteed any way? I agree he gets far more crap than he deserves, but this was a move to create space, nothing more.

If your boss gave you 6 months pay all at once ...... would you be happy?

If my salary were guaranteed, and I was making as much as an NFL player, I'd look at it as a business transaction. Wouldn't really make me happy, it would just be.

I don't get it that so called fans crap on Free. He had outplayed Collins all year and just so you
know so has Leary that everyone wanted to trade. Free is balling so let him alone. He just does
his job and keeps his mouth closed. Not much to dislike.
You are correct. He is the consumate pro and he stays on the field. He moves around the line when he is asked to and does a yoman's job. He is not All Pro but he is certainly a good lineman.

He's much better at run blocking than pass blocking especially against fast DE's. He can maintain blocks on the
edge though to allow Zeke to get to the 2nd level. He's not perfect at his age but, he's not trash either.

Well, he took the big pay cut with the understanding that if stayed on the field and was leader who helped lead the young guys, he could get an incentive.
Dallas just help up their end of the deal.

For some people, it's not that the glass is half empty or half full. They just don't like the glass.

I'm surprised the board hasn't manufactured some reasons to rip on Jeff Heath during the bye week. He's been a popular whipping boy since being drafted.

Ashame Nick Hayden's no longer around. We'd certainly be picking his performance apart right about now.

let me know who is missing Hayden right now. This is like the Spencer defenders. No one is missing either player and neither didnt raise the defense. This is really a defense of little names and its doing better as expected, something Rod M does well.
