I'm glad someone liked it ......I put a lot of work into it........not really..... I'm trying to motivate him

I actually don't think Free is that bad, I think he is an average RT who is a good team guy but overpaid. But I also think the chances of him being the starting RT next year are basically zero.

IMO the perfect situation would be Free coming back on a much smaller contract so he can complete with Green for the starting RT spot. I think Green would beat him out next year and Free would be an above average swing tackle. That scenario is pretty far fetched though, Free will likely get cut and then get a good contract to play elsewhere.

Free has one problem, and that is with fast outside rushers.
The coaches should know this and give TE help on passing plays.
If left on his own he will get beat by those guys.
He used to be good run blocking, havent looked at that this year though.
Free's biggest problem is that he is severely lacking in upper body strength. He appears to have really weak shoulders. He has almost no ability to resist if a defender gets under his arms and thrusts upwards. This has caused him to use what would normally be bad technique to compensate. One compensation is keeping his hands extra low.

On outside rushers his feet are quick enough, but he has no strength when reaching out. This causes him to need to keep his body in front of the rusher; whereas, a guy like Tyron can just reach out and push the rusher wide with one hand.

Because he has to stay in front of the rusher more than other OTs, he likes to over-set to the outside at times. This makes him vulnerable to getting beat inside. They help him by having Martin setup closer to Free and further from Fred than an OG normally would. On the left it is the opposite. Leary actually sets up closer to Fred than to Tyron on most passing downs. I think Leary does this in part to allow Fred to compensate to the right because Martin is compensating for Free.

Free has never been a good power blocker. They have designed the scheme such that he really doesn't have to power block. Many of his run blocks are more like a pass block where he just has to wall-off the defender but does not have to get any movement on him. They also scheme to have him blocking a LB instead of a DLinman as much as possible in the running game.

The weak upper body thing is weird. If you've ever had a shoulder injury, his issues seem very similar to having weak shoulders due to injury. I guess it's also possible that he doesn't spend enough time in the weight room but it seems that after all of these years that he would have overcome the weak upper body issue.

I've studied more snaps of Free than any player ever.

I don't get it that so called fans crap on Free. He had outplayed Collins all year and just so you
know so has Leary that everyone wanted to trade. Free is balling so let him alone. He just does
his job and keeps his mouth closed. Not much to dislike.
But he can't pass block. The reason for the sacks and Romo's injuries is Free! He is very good at run blocking but if you want to keep your QB up right you have to find a way to help Free. So, I am saying if you can find a RT who run blocks like Free and can pass block like the rest of the OL, then get rid of Free. That is all!!!

Well your right, but like I said they have to know what his weakness is , and they should always give him help on the outside rush,
that way he doesnt have to move over.
The play where Daks pass was int or it was ruled a fumble, that was peppers on free, and free could not get in front of him,
and I dont think he had help, and that is against peppers, who did similar things in 2014 game.
peppers also knocked the ball out of romo's hand.
I think it could be corrected with strategy.

Unfortunately, they can't scheme around him on every play, especially pass plays.
