You are correct. Just the same, some of these media guys are so anxious to be first with news that they do ocassionally jump the gun and report stuff that simply isn't true. Given that the league itself is not aware of this, the wait and see approach isn't unreasonable, IMO.

Yep, when they said there was a video of Dez doing worse than Ray Rice, I couldn't believe my eyes watching that video. Oh, wait.....

Rightly or wrongly, its a condition of employment for him agreed to by the NFL and NFLPA and he broke the rules. We drug test where I work and even though I don't agree with the policy, I have to follow it if I want to work here.

Preach, brother.

Still, Gregory must know that this antiquated way of the NFL (that extends much further than just the reefer madness) can cause him to miss games, and therefore, he should abstain. As sad as it is. In the 21st century. It is what it is
I hear you and like I said, it was a rule he found himself unable to follow. I also find it an arbitrary rule that I think will be a travesty for this kid if he's prevented from making a living for something in a couple years, after his reputation is spent and opportunities are gone, is ultimately deemed no longer banned.

OH! That's what got Irving kicked from the game.

He needs to move to California now (just passed), or the other states that legalize it. I live in Oregon, so I'm good.

That would absolutely have no effect, since it is an NFL rule and he must follow the NFL rule to continue employment in the league.

Legal or not it is currently prohibited by the NFL and that cannot be disputed regardless where the Federal Government stands in the near or far future.

If Greggory failed yet again then I agree with others it is time to cut bait.

Frank Clark went two picks later :'(
Hopefully he can get his life figured out. I never found weed addicting, despite how much I used to smoke. There are other problems there.

I didn't edit a single word in any post in this thread bro, only further delved into my point for the easily confused

Oh my bad I guess the post I quoted

And the one now in its place magically contain different sets of words?

Even semantically if you're saying you didn't "change anything" and only added to it, let me ask how you did that. Here's a hint for the "easily confused" you have to click edit post.

I wasn't even saying it in a disparaging way, just that I didn't see the edit when you suggested I re-read it.

I was a big Gregory supporter and am a weed advocate. Unfortunately I can no longer smoke because it's prohibited by my job. And much like he's displayed, if I were to get busted multiple times by my employer I too would be an idiot.

Your initial post questioned why he was a boom or bust pick, when not only was it fairly obvious then why, it's PAINFULLY obvious now.

Simple.

Please let go of my hand and start holding my pocket

The Dez "video" was exactly what popped into my head, too, when I first saw this.

I've fired countless employees because they smoked so much weed, I couldn't get an honest day's work out of them. A lot of them liked to smoke out at lunch.

They deserved it, Erod. I won't argue with you there. I'm grounded and self-aware enough to draw nuance from weed usage (even tho I don't partake).

Read my second post in this thread. Then take a couple breaths.

Also, this is a very big deal. Huge deal.

I read your post and you blame it on old geezers who make the rules? again it does not matter if you make any substance legal his problem is addiction.

And the younger generation , the me,me,me generation need to understand that "weed" is a controlled substance for a reason. Legalizing it will lead to far worse problems.
careful now...there's more of them than there are of us. :)

I added to my post, if you want to call it edit, fine.

Still, my point in your original response was there for you. Stop being a stubborn. What does "holding your pocket" mean?

It's incredibly sad that some weed makes this phenom a "boom or bust pick"

All the while, it sucks that he can't stay off the herb for the sake of his career. I get it, he wants to smoke his herb, but he has to realize the NFL is a bunch of antiquated old geezers that still buy into the "reefer madness"... and for that reason alone, he should abstain. It's still so damn sad that fricking marijuana is destroying his career. In this "progressive" time.

This is so disappointing.

Get over the weed part and realize it's an addiction problem he has... people get lost in it's just a "little weed what's the problem" but the same can be said for the alcoholic who can't stop having his "cold beer" after work
