Romo to have "significant say" in where he goes

Better for who? For Dallas? Sure

Definitely not better for Romo
The Bills are a solid team. Having a QB like Romo would make them potential 11-12 win team. They also have a solid OL and are a run heavy team. In Denver, he would be asked to carry that offense and with there line he would take way more more hits. IMO he has a much better shot at making it through a season in Buffalo then in Denver, and in Denver Lynch would be closer to taking his job if he got hurt then Cardale would be in Buffalo

Buf D is atrocious

But you are right about the run game

ESPN reporter said a conditional 4th or 5th. I'd say that's pretty low for Romo even at 37 but hey, he would be off the books.

D is talented though. I think alot of that has to do with the 3-4 transition they are doing this year. I think they will be alot better next year.

With Romo and Denver, i just see them asking himnto put up the ball 500+ times in 2017 if they make that move. With their OL I dont see him lasting. Especially in a division Mack, KC's fleet lf edge rushers and Bosa and Ingram (if he stays in SD). The AFC West is what the NFC East was with pass rushers 10 years ago when we had Ware, Ellis, Uminyora, Strahan and Cole destroying Commander QBs lol

That's probably in line.

And it would be even better if there was a salary readjustment before hand that knocked his cap hit down even further.

Whoever offer the best deal gets Romo. It's that simple.

No one can give a good answer.

When the time comes there are many factors that could play into it.

I wouldn't be shocked if it were a 2nd rounder... I wouldn't be shocked if it were a conditional 6th rounder.
The range is so wide its almost fascinating really

As far as top value (whatever that may be) you have to ask" Which teams are willing to gamble on the upside of the move" . The amount of teams you get that will be will drive your value closer to top dollar

Could history be repeating itself? Craig Morton was traded to Denver and lost to the Cowboys with Staubach in the Superbowl.

Actually it was the Giants that traded for Morton. They started him a few seasons and then cut him. That was when Denver picked him up.

And the 1st round pick they got for trading Morton ended up being Hall of Famer DT Randy White. Randy White ended up being one of the Co-MVP's in the Super Bowl the Cowboys played against Morton and the Broncos. By the way, in that game, Morton recorded a "0" passer rating and was replaced at halftime.

Suddenly people believe the press. For the last decade the vitriol has gone from bad to worse about reports by the press. Now you see this blurb and immediately these guys are spewing burning bush information?

The results of this season will weigh heavy on what next year will bring.

My Opinion:

Miss the play-offs - - Romo will have played some games in 2016
Dak makes the play-offs but lost first game - - Open competition in 2017
Dak makes the NFC Championship game - - Dak goes in as starter for 2017, but may be in a competition by the end of training camp
Romo takes over for a foundering Dak and takes team to the play-offs - - open competition in 2017
Romo gets to the NFC Championship game after taking over - - Romo will be named starter in off-season, but will be a quiet competition
Romo gets to the Super Bowl and loses - Romo is the starter in 2017
Romo wins the Super Bowl - starter in 2017

Dak wins the Super Bowl - Romo traded

I believe Jerry's love for Romo, and his understanding he can fade one more year of this will cause Romo to be here.

However, if someone comes a calling after the 2017 season starts and this is still up in the air, and they offer a 1, then Jerry will be hard pressed to pass that up.

But there is too much football left for this decision to be made. And Rappaport's comments are far more speculation by someone on the fringe that Rappaport talked to and not one of the main players in this drama.

In other words his comments can be dried and used to fertilize roses.

Nothing to see here ladies.

I love the way the team has finally started handling this. Romo is a great guy and he may get to go finish his career with DWare.

Time to get my hat and jersey ready! Maybe Carson Palmer will implode and the Cards could be another location. I'll be a fan of any team he lands on but really want him on a championship caliber team.
