Would you take this offense over the 07 team?

Give me the 07 defense.

This team has better special teams and a better offensive style.

14 really didn't compare to 07 though. This year does however. This year feels just like 07 to me.

Without hesitation. I know they talk about "8 men in the box" all the time, but Zeke is a player where if you DON'T he'll make you pay EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The '07 offense was based on Romo being VERY accurate. Which he was, but there's so many flaws you can exploit in that passing game. This is just so different.

The Cowboys have started 9-1 three times -- 1976, 1983 and 2007 -- and amazingly failed to win a playoff game all 3 times. Hopefully that changes with this team.

Interesting. And surprising.

Well-- we could be the first Dallas team to win 10 in a row starting tomorrow and enter "new territory" ;)

2014 had many comparisons to 2007 and many still favored 07

How about now?

Right now, I'd rank them 2014, 2016 and then 2007. We put up some good numbers that year, but the o-line, despite having 3 pro bowlers was over rated. Shot gun snaps sailing over Romo's head, and defenders having free shots, only to have Romo scramble and evade looked good on sportscenter, but was not nearly as efficient (arguably more explosive though). I give 2014 the nod over this year for now, because that team finished 12-4 and won a playoff game, once this team does that, then I'll likely change my mind.

2016... Who was our lead back in '07 Marion Barber? Our O' was prolific but Tony also threw 19 INT's ... I also don't like the way philly punched us at home causing us to back in as the #1 seed. We also didn't have a good showing in Wash.. although we didn't need the game.

2014 defense had 18 INTs to give the offense more possessions. This year, we have 4 INTs.

Yes.

points per drive
2016 2.91
2014 2.62
2007 2.42
This is actually an interesting question (okay, it's not, but only because the discrepancy is so big: hear me out). The 2007 team scored fewer points per drive but ran faster drives, so there were more drives per game (1.2 more, to be exact). If you're significantly better than your opponent (meaning you score more points per drive than you give up), you in theory want to trade as many drives as possible during the game to maximize that advantage and keep the other team from hanging around. So there will be cases, particularly if my team has a good defense, where I would prefer the faster-paced offense with a lower points-per-drive. Here, though, the 2016 team doesn't have a good defense and the difference in offensive ppd swamps the difference in drives, so yeah, give me the 2016 offense.
