Would you take this offense over the 07 team?

What I like about this offense is the consistency. You pretty much know what you're going to have... which is around 27 points a game.

Hard to say. 07 was the most dominant season out of the 3 good ones we had the past 21 years.

Tough one for sure!!!

2007 I remember really enjoying. The TO-Romo connection was on fire. That was a fun to watch. I had a huge Coors Light Cowboys schedule banner at my house and I remember marking Ws each week game after game that season. Was fun! Sucks it ended so soon and to the Giants though.

2014 was also fun to watch. Romo was on fire that season too and it was the first time in a long time the Boys had a dominating run game.

2016 seems to be magical though. Something about it. I said that about 2014 too though. Haha This year though we just have this rejuvenated swagger about us. Maybe it's the youth at our key positions?

Probably best to see what everything looks like at the end of the season before whipping out the stats. Let's also not pretend that the schedule is the same every year either. The 2007 team played a 16-0 team, a 13-3 team, 10-6 Giants twice, etc. This year's team has played the easiest schedule in the league to this point.

A healthy Terry Glenn and we go to the super bowl that year. He was the lost link that year IMO.

The 2007 team was also soft with less heart.

Very little difference in the quality of defenses faced though.

Dallas opponents
Avg NFL rank, points allowed per drive
2007: 16th
2014: 17th
2016: 18th

2016 (remaining): 15th

I used to download a picture from our last game every Monday in 07, and use it as my desktop background picture on my work computer. That was great. Damn, I should be doing that this year! Ahh, can't do it now, might jinx the season if I change my routine o_O

This offense is so clean and efficient- very few turnovers, high t.o.p. like 2014, it's a hard comparison. 07 relied on improv and incredible explosiveness and was never out of a game, but left good teams in them as well because it didn't play the best complimentary football.

2016 Offense seems much more methodical and needs all 4 qtrs to impose it's will- then the kill shot. I feel if the D could get off the field once or twice more a game, this team could be unbeatable because the run game limits opposing teams opportunities as it is. The run game also keeps us in games we trail in and allows for a reeling D to regroup.

I have always been a fan of this type of offense the Cowboys are running. Call it Cowboy tradition but this team has thrived over the years with some of the best RB in the game and looks like we hit on the next great RB.

No. In prime Romo. Barber and Jones. Terry glenn, TO, Drayton and a in prime Witten. That team had the best record in the NFC and the league was better then.

And no...I don't have any stats in front of me...this is just MY eye test

I prefer this style of offense, but that 07 offense was killing teams before falling apart towards the end of the season.

We started 12-1 and were averaging over 32 PPG. We scored 32 points combined the last 3 games and went 1-2. And then the Giants happened.
