Would you take this offense over the 07 team?

this team would beat that team

This defense would have some issues contending with TO, Terry Glenn and Jason Witten. With little pressure on Romo he likely would have had a field day unless we got some turnovers. As much as I like our offense I'm concerned about our defense.

I thought Romo played with scrubs his whole career  just sayin fellas let's keep it real
That defense, which was better than the current one, is the same defense that allowed Eli a 132.4 rating in the playoffs.

The 2009 defense, which was the best Romo ever had, gave up a 134.4 to Favre in the playoffs.

Had we had a more experienced Romo in 2007(like 2011+ when he really hit his prime) rather than a first year starter, 2007 all day. Although I do think Green Bay is really starting to prove how little a good passing game can mean.

2014 offense with Zeke instead of Murray does amazing things and is probably never stopped.

With what Zeke and this line is doing to defenses, it's impossible to not pick the 2016 offense.

Bad luck Romo. Sucks for him I guess. I'm done with the bad luck days. I'll take some of that Eli stuff

I'll take some of that Eli stuff
As long as it comes from one of these two seasons.

I prefer this style of offense, but that 07 offense was killing teams before falling apart towards the end of the season.

We started 12-1 and were averaging over 32 PPG. We scored 32 points combined the last 3 games and went 1-2. And then the Giants happened.

Three big issues contributed to that:
  • TO got a high ankle sprain against the Panthers, and was playing on one leg against the Giants.
  • The Cowboys mistakenly activated Terry Glenn from the NFI list, and inserted him as a starter. He couldn't run anymore, and Patrick Crayton, who was benched, went into the tank.
  • Romo hit his hand against an Eagle blitzer's helmet in the game that they lost in December and sprained the thumb on his throwing hand. His effectiveness from that point forward in the 2007 season was significantly reduced.

Gimme '07 Romo, but this line and RB are far better. So overall I'd take this offense. The' 07 team had prime Owens, who was a beast and better than Dez imo, but Dez is still pretty damn good and Beasley is proving to be a quick chain mover that this team has hasn't had at wide out in a while. I'd take this years offense because come playoff time, I have more confidence in an offense that dominates the line of scrimmage with a crushing running game over the high flying gunslinger offense that '07 was.
