Would you take this offense over the 07 team?

Absolutely. Better running game, less giveaways from the QB, and deeper receiving core.

This is actually an interesting question (okay, it's not, but only because the discrepancy is so big: hear me out). The 2007 team scored fewer points per drive but ran faster drives, so there were more drives per game (1.2 more, to be exact). If you're significantly better than your opponent (meaning you score more points per drive than you give up), you in theory want to trade as many drives as possible during the game to maximize that advantage and keep the other team from hanging around. So there will be cases, particularly if my team has a good defense, where I would prefer the faster-paced offense with a lower points-per-drive. Here, though, the 2016 team doesn't have a good defense and the difference in offensive ppd swamps the difference in drives, so yeah, give me the 2016 offense.

exactly, our offense helps our defense.
it also gives other teams less possessions, so fewer chances to score.

The first part is arguably true, by keeping them fresher. The second part is cancelled out by the fact that it also limits our chances to score.

It is all about match-ups.
I see 2007 offense as scoring at will against this 2016 defense, where I see 2016 offense scoring 24-28 points against 2007 D.
So at this point in the season, with both teams at one loss, I would project a 35-27 win for 2007.

2016... Who was our lead back in '07 Marion Barber? Our O' was prolific but Tony also threw 19 INT's ... I also don't like the way philly punched us at home causing us to back in as the #1 seed. We also didn't have a good showing in Wash.. although we didn't need the game.

Romo injured his thumb on the very first passing play. He was not right that whole game or the final 3 game stretch speaking of which it was a complete downpour and the starters only played the first half at washington.....also austin dropped a simple crossing route that would have been 6 in the second quarter. The weather was horrible though.

Assuming everybody stays healthy in each one? 07 > 14 > 16. Each time so far one important player has gotten hurt late in the season though, so we'll see what happens this year.

The Cowboys have started 9-1 three times -- 1976, 1983 and 2007 -- and amazingly failed to win a playoff game all 3 times. Hopefully that changes with this team.

Basically the 07 and 16 teams the problem is D. Above average defense will help in playoff games .( No idea about 76 , a bit before my knowledge of the boys )

Would take this offense hands down over the 07 offense. The 07 offense didn't have near the caliber of back as Zeke and Dak doesn't turn the ball over like Romo. The 07 offense was more explosive but this offense is more consistent. This offense reminds me of the offenses we had during our championship years in the 90s.

This team is so much better. I could wax poetic but the hisses and boos
would be embarrassing

yes it limits both teams, but we know each one is important and we need to get a score, the other team doesnt realize that. at least not yet.
It is why flacco didnt see how they could lose that game, he and the ravens havent figured it out yet.

We already know the team of 2007 didn't have the killer instinct to keep their foot on the neck of the Giants. They let the Giants up and paid the price for it. That was probably this team's best opportunity in the past 20 years to win a Super Bowl.

This team feels different. Destiny seems to be calling and they have the attitude, it seems, that they aren't going to let anything or anybody get in the way of that destiny.

2016 offense. Romo better QB but the OL makes the difference. Running game is one of the best I've ever seen.

The defense ranked better in 2007. We were 9th in total defense and 13th against the pass plus we had Demarcus Ware who put up 14 sacks that season.

I'll take the 16 offense but it's close to be honest

After 10 games in 2007 Romo had 12 turnovers (11 INT's) compared to 5 turnovers (2 INT's) for Dak. Romo ended up with a career high 19 INT's that season. He had a career high 36 TD's but we weren't moving the chains as consistently or controlling the ball the way we are this season. This season we're doing what our early 90s teams did by being efficient offensively and wearing defenses down with our running game.

The 07 offensive line wasn't nearly this good, not even close, though the skill positions were about the same level. The 07 defense helped their team more than the current group,,, to date anyways, I'm still holding out hope that Dallas' 2016 defense will continue to improve.
