Myth of no open receivers

One step is WIDE OPEN in the NFL. That's the biggest adjustment for college quarterbacks. That, and the disguised zone coverages that don't exist in college.

He's holding the ball for an eternity. He's lost. Defensive coordinators will figure you out, and they have with Dak. He'll have to adjust this offseason and moving forward, just like everybody else has to.

What does this have to do with this play? Dak did the opposite on this play. Dak got rid of the ball quickly to Dunbar.

Good work, Dak isn't seeing the field and has developed tunnel vision. Not sure what we can do, maybe hook him up to some virtual reality training gear (several teams use this)

I am actually glad there were WRs getting open. I'd rather chalk up a game to Dak being fooled by coverage and just having a bad night than having to deal with the fact that no one is getting open and the offense is in dire straights.

Between the cold weather, free blitzers, linemen dropping back in coverage etc it all just become too much. Dak studies his butt off he will learn from this game and be ready. Rather it happened now, instead of in the playoffs.

You don't need the pictures.

All you had to do was watch the game and you would have seen him miss players.

The WR's didn't play great either but to act like Dak was great and it wasn't his fault for not being able to make the throws that were there is just people being babies who can't dare to have anything other than praise thrown at their boy.

And if you look the large majority of those crying about people doing anything other than sucking Dak off are the same people who crucified Romo any time he wasn't absolutely on point, all game, every throw.

It's why, for the most part on these forums, you can simply ignore those people because they've shown what they are already.

LOl. Are you this clueless? Your pic proves my point that the ball has already left Daks hand way before Bease even starts to look back.
If thrown to Beasley the ball would have travelled about 20 yards in the air after Beasley had turned to face the QB. Do you dispute this?

Everyone here loves Dak, weve all said it. People here need to stop being so sensitive to criticism on Dak. If he cant be critiqued after every game then you cant critique anyone.

Dak was atrocious Sunday night.

I stopped doing my weekly thoughts because of this dynamic. I gave both praise and criticism yet the thread turned into people hammering me for daring criticize Dak.

His mechanics under pressure are more of a concern now than ever.

Ever heard "throw the receiver open?"

You throw that ball pretty much right to the 50 on the field and there's not a defender anywhere near Beasley. That is WIDE OPEN and it doesn't matter if Bease is looking or not.

You can't justify "open receivers" with still images. You must see the play develop to clearly identify open receivers. That said, I haven't examined the tape to say they weren't open. Though I would trust Bob Sturm before a still image.

Yep. Dak played bad no doubt but the assertion that the loss was all on him is hilarious.

Please, for the sake of everyone here, let it go and stop embarrassing yourself.

Ok, then it's on Dez. The QB can't make decisions based on where a player is looking at the moment. If a guy is open, throw it.

No, context doesn't matter, because I'm not talking about one play in particular. I'm talking about the argument that a guy isn't open because he isn't looking for the football being LOL worthy.

I don't blame Dez. What was Dez supposed to do on a blitz? Williams was a hot receiver. Beasley ran a quick out on the other side. Perhaps Dez was supposed to do something else. Perhaps he was just supposed to run his route on in case the defense bails out of the blitz at the last second. We don't know. If you want to blame someone blame the Giants defense for making a good play.

Also, context does matter when we're talking about a specific play which I was. Context doesn't really matter if talking about generalities. We're both right! Yeah!

Its funny that all these Dak stans are defending him saying "b b but these screenshots dont show down and distance blah blah blah", but are ignoring how during the game, JG told Michele Tafoya that Dak "missed some easy ones"

There were some plays Dak missed in the first half but not many.

You can't reason with Romo danglers.

I'm sure those are doctored........bah ha ha
So do you want our Rookie qb to fail or do you actually get your jollies out of his struggles in this game?

Even Eagles fans aren't having this attitude towards Wentz and he hadn't been half as good as Dak this year

Oh, please! Film might not lie but snapshots can. Some of these pictures he actually DOES throw to the circled receiver. On some pics Dak is looking the other way ... or rolling away ... or would require throwing back across the field. Some show a receivers temporarily open as he runs from one defender to another. Your pictures do so that if we had run more stop routes or curls would may have had more success. Just don't use these pictures to judge Dak. Watch the film.

Smart post. Did you play QB or WR at some point?

Dak was atrocious Sunday night.

He deserves to be criticized after Sunday, but many on here were waiting for a loss to point out how much better Romo would be.

Criticism =/= Benching him and disregarding all he has accomplished this season.

Had the ball been thrown to Beasley at the time Dak threw the ball it would have either hit Beasley on the back or his side as Bease is turning at best.
