Some guys show up in big games, others don't.

Some quarterbacks show up and play all all 22 positions on the field?

Romo had one of the most flawless quarterback performances in NFL playoff history--on the road w/22 degree temps. Whole game with just 3 incompletions.

But the defense gave up 450 yards... Murray has a key fumble...the refs can't call a clutch Romo-to-Dez completion...and it leads to a loss.

Romo can't throw in the cold though.. that's what they say was the reason for Dak against the Giants, despite his awful mechanics..

Yep, excuses. Manning has no excuses, twice. Manning younger brother has no excuses, twice. Brady has no excuses, 4 times, Roethlisberger has no excuses, twice, shall I go on? Only undrafted guys who have managed to be a regular season hero, only his fans can come up with excuses.

Keep throwing out all the excuses you want, Romo has never won anything important. It's been logged, it's over for Romo. Now it's time to see what the rookie can do. He's got 4 years in my book.
I said not a single excuse. You just don't comprehend what I'm saying, and like I said, that's fine.

You are the one making excuses...excuses for overlooking sheer playoff brilliance. And I suppose you have excuses to overlook Romo's career all-time best 4th quarter QB rating.

Romo was hall-of-fame caliber in that playoff game at Lambaugh. Period. End of discussion. The fact that you can't accept it...that you look for straws is your issue....And ultimately your hate.

What is your excuse for your failure to understand that Romo couldn't play defense against the Pack ....as they gave up nearly 500 yards? What's your excuse for failure to admit the devastation Murray's fumble represented when he could have run for a touchdown?

The reality is you have a guy that you want to hate and nothing will stop you from hating on him.

Anyway...back to the topic of this thread.

Jerry's comments are damaging in all kinds of ways:

- The comments hurt Dak...undermining him.

- Comments hurt Coach Garrett--undermining his authority

- If the team does need to make a change to Romo...it plants doubt that the whole thing was rigged...that Jerry just wanted it that way all along and might have done things to make it happen.

- Makes it look like Romo is politicking in the back rooms

- Comments distract and possibly divide the team

- Comments hurt the future of the team...as they can plant seeds of distrust

- Hurts Dez as it gives support to those who point a finger at his effort in the Giant game.

- Comments hurt the entire organization and it hurts Jerry...showing again what a drunken fool he is.

For two games, the quarterback position was dysfunctional and not productive at all, on 3rd downs. The biggest producer on offense, Dez Bryant, is not on the same sheet with Dak.

Against two straight tough defenses, the strength of the offense was a no show. If a third occurs, that then does make a statement, when both Dez and the QB disappear.

I hate going 10 years with nothing. I'm sure you loved the wasted time.

Putting Tony back in because the team finally loses a couple games, or because Dak has a couple rookie outings, would be the first domino to fall to the start of a chain reaction of bad decisions.

I agree. We should embrace the Dak era.

I don't understand this? Romo has been good in cold weather though? He grew up in a cold climate and played college ball in a cold climate. I'd say he was built for it. JMO

I haven't checked stats in all his games in cold weather. So I'm just going off memory

I disagree with all of this.

Yep that broken down nobody is the #3 rated passer in NFL history...

But he's a nobody

Brady, Montana, Aikman, etc..aren't remembered because of their season stats and neither will Romo be remembered for his. Sorry you can't stomach that.

This is a non-sequitur.

Do you think Cowboys fans have wanted to live without having Super Bowl victory in over twenty years, inclusive of the last ten? The point is your irrational, hate-driven, ever persistent blame on such a failure in the latter on the position of the QB play inconsiderate of a holistic analysis of the entire organization from management, coaching, and other players on down.

Tony Romo will go down in history just like Danny White unless he wins a SB. Nobody outside of Cowboy fans even remember Danny and as the years go by Danny is talked about less and less by Cowboy fans too. That's just the way it is.

I can stomach anything. I'm sorry you don't understand the difference between a nobody and the #3 all time rated QB. So yes he gets remembered. But good try

He'll be remembered in print as a statistical footnote in the history books, good for him; but no one outside of Dallas will care to look him up unless he wins a championship.
