Quote on Romo from Jean-Jacques Taylor ESPN Staff Writer

And never once presided over a Cowboys' losing season
5 winning seasons
3 .500 seasons

Why can't people just be happy for Dallas and Dak and not disrespect Romo in the process. I don't get it.

2010

If Romo wasn't running for his life most of his career and had good defenses he wouldn't have to put up all those worthless stats to keep the team in the game
2014 showed exactly what he could do with a line and run game. What he could have done for most of his career. Add in a better defense--even one just on the level of this year's crop--and you might have a Lombardi or two.

I'm thrilled for Dak, but he walked into a really sweet situation. Kind of like skipping all the hard part and going right to "go".
Good for him. And luckily, I think he actually realizes it.

Please don't tell me you are calling Dak an elite QB after 14 games?

Did I say that?! I knew you would bite though. No, however he certainly demonstrates the characteristics that define an elite qb. Romo doesn't possess the same qualities. He has um... "moxie". That's kinda cool... I guess.

The "anti-Romo" part makes no sense, which after all is Frenchie to the core.

I want actually listening to the radio this morning when JJT made that comment. I don't think it was as anti-Romo as it looks, or at least it wasn't intended to be. It came up when they were talking about the supposed quarterback controversy, which they both brushed off as being ridiculous. JJT said he thought the team was built for a QB like Prescott. He won't make as many spectacular plays as Romo, but at the same time he won't make as many spectacular mistakes either. I think that's what he was referring to when he said Dak is the "Anti-Romo", which is accurate.

To imply that Romo's game was never about "Winning" is not "accurate". It's asinine.

JTT never said Romo wasn't interested in winning. Obviously nobody believes that. The quote needs to be put in context. His point was that Dak and Romo are very different in how they approach the game. Romo was more of a gunslinger who would make big plays and also big mistakes, whereas Dak looks to make fewer big plays but also fewer mistakes. Both approaches are valid as demonstrated by their records.

Similar to last night. Winston was the gunslinger. He made bigger plays and bigger mistakes and his team lost the game.

It's a great quote until Dak goes 4-12 because Zeke tears an ACL or Zack Martin pulls a groin... or anything that upsets the perfect dink and dunk conditions this team exists in.

Yeah, and I bet Romo would just be Superman under the same circumstances. Afterall, it's not like Demarco Murray wasn't bailing him out in 2014 or anything.

Your bitterness is palatable.

Sick of making it a Dak vs Romo thing. Romo was a damn good QB and gave us all he had. However, it's Dak's time and we are 12-2 and looking for HFA. I'm going to enjoy the winning and succes we are having.

I was a Romo fan but I'm all-in on Dak. He's playing at an exceptionally high level and it's what is best for the team. Just keep winning!

Romo has nothing to prove. He's played well on teams that had great offensive lines and poor offensive lines. Good defenses and bad defenses. Great running game or no running game.
Dak is just a dink and dunk guy. Put him on the Texans and he would be a shrimp version of Osweiler.
