Playoff Game Thread

Atlanta lost to the Chargers, Bucs, and Eagles. Dallas defeated Pittsburgh and Green Bay.

This is true, but I don't really think it means anything. The Steelers got blown out by Philly. The Packers lost four in a row -- including to TENN. The Giants beat Dallas -- TWICE. But the Giants also lost to Minnesota (which lost to Chicago) and Washington (which lost to Carolina). So . . .

As I see it, the bottom line is that Atlanta clearly outclassed Seattle AND GB, and did so in a manner that eliminated any questions about officiating, bounces, or luck. There is no question that they were better -- MUCH better -- than the teams they played. They are peaking now, not in October-November. And I think that their offense would have blown ANY of the other NFC playoff teams (Dallas, NYG, DET) off the field, no matter where those games were played.

Atlanta is the most worthy and deserving NFC representative in the SB. They are the best team in the conference -- by a LARGE margin. Second-best is a large step behind.

I'll say it again: Tomlin is an overrated coach, and Bradshaw didn't deserve the crap he got for stating it.

Same as Gruden was overrated for taking over a team that was loaded with talent, Tomlin did as well. Cowher built that 03-08 football team, Tomlin has struggled to build anything remotely close to a stud defense. Good job on offense, weak job on D.

I'll repeat my entire quote (again), which you apparently can't see or are conveniently choosing to ignore:

"Atlanta lost to the Chargers, Bucs, and Eagles. Dallas defeated Pittsburgh and Green Bay.

We're closer than you think, but you have to play 4 quarters in the playoffs. Dallas played about 2 and a half."

I'll repeat your own quote for you. We're not close than I think. The regular season is not the playoffs. Dallas defeating Green Bay in October is irrelevant. There's a reason no one gave us a chance against a 10-6 Green Bay team when we were 13-3 (and could've easily been 14-2 if we tried against the Eagles). We're not winners like these other teams. They turn it up a notch in the playoffs. We don't. Dallas finished 13-3 in 2007 and went one-and-done. We finished 12-4 two years ago and nearly went one-and-done before losing to Green Bay. We finished 13-3 this year and went one-and-done. Regular season is irrelevant until you can prove you can handle the playoffs.

Sorry I love them. If you've been to this many Championship games and 7 SBs in this era you are great and doing something that isn't cheating. I like watching greatness thus hating watching Garrett. Teams like this are a level above us
yes watch NE, then watch Dallas, and it is more than 1 level, more like several levels in coaching and preparation.

Talk about "luck of the draw."

Patriots played 32nd-most difficult schedule of offenses in regular season. Then faced Texans, then Steelers w/o Bell in playoffs.

They may have the best defense in the NFL, but how would you know?
All you can do is win the games on your schedule and like in the playoffs they did in convincing fashion leaving no doubt.

Atlanta, do not let any Pats employees near your facilities, hotel rooms, practice fields, or bathrooms. Beat the snot out of those Bostonians and give no mercy.

Getting kind of tired of people who edit out parts of your post then attack what's left as though they're making a point that you missed.

pats will drop ALOT once 12 retires. not saying theyll suck. bc BB is a good coach.

dallas needs to get back on track. NE about to tie them in SBs. Pitts has 6.
NE is going to pass the Cowboys , Steelers and Broncos in their 9th SB appearance .

Maybe its going to take a special effort by the Patriots to beat the Falcons. Let the Patriots love fest begin In sports media

On the flipside, how much despair is it to be a fan of a team in the AFC, and constantly having your year end at the hands of New England. I've bout' seen enough of GB in the NFL, and TOR in the MLB. I couldn't imagine having to watch these Patriots constantly on the trophy stage with anything invested. They been doing this for 15 years now.
