And of that group Prescott is youngest and w/most team friendly contract. Also the best winning percentage.

Right now, Jerry should be consulting with Trump to find out if the Cowboys yet qualify for consideration in the monetary investments in the NFL....or they are still just a whipping boy that just has to over come all odds, including a base of fair play towards them.,

Is it? We really have no idea what will happen with Dak next season. Many rookie QBs have looked really good their first season with the sky being the limit. Only to fall back down to Earth the next. It is possible, however unlikely, that Dak may be worth the most right now to the Cowboys than he will ever be.

Tough call. Glad I'm not the one making it.

My guess is that "life after Fisher" means nowhere to go but up. I don't pretend to know what Goff will end up being...so many variable determine that...but I certainly wouldn't write him off yet.
 
We need to make sure the team is solid around Dak. I don't want to see a sophomore slump. He needs to continue to work hard, and use the playoff lose as a chip on his shoulder. It wasn't his fault for losing the game. But he was part of the 21-3 shellacking we took in the first quarter. That can't happen again ... ever !!!

I have said many times here that I think Goff sucks :) I watched him a lot in college. Having said that, I can see the new coaching staff turning the Rams around. Wade will have that defense buzzing for sure.

That team has been somewhat of an enigma to me. They've gone toe-to-toe with the Seahawks and won their fair share (I know...Divisional games are always hard fought) and then turn around and get slobber-knocked by a scrub team. They have truly lacked consistency. I don't know for sure, but I think that's about to change. A whole lot will depend on what Goff is (or isn't), but I think their coaching will be solid.

Huh/ What did Dak do during that first quarter that was so bad?
First drive...field goal, after we got hurt by penalty
Second drive...got us to the 15 yard line only to be screwed by refs
Third drive...3 and out

Two good drives out of 3 possessions. Yet that can "never happen again!" ?

I'd take Wade back as DC in a heartbeat. The only problem is that we no longer have the personnel to run his defense.
 
We hit the jackpot with Dak. I do believe Wentz will work out well for the Eagles. IMO those are the two high quality QBs in this last draft. There's still some chance that Goff and Lynch will work out, but they haven't looked good yet.
 
Well, with regards to all of the older QBs playing longer and the younger QBs less prepared, I don't know. I mean, the game today is rigged so that QBs will last longer. They drive the market so they are protected way more then ever before. The younger ones, they are asked to do much more complicated reads in the passing game and they have much less time to be ready to play then QBs used to years ago. I am not so sure all of the younger QBs are as bad as they are painted to be in this article. Time will eventually tell I suppose.

I think it's unlikely that he'll be a one hit wonder, there's the possibility he might struggle a bit next season, but he seems like the kind of player that can make in season adjustments. I hope like heck he's the QB of the future! If for some reason he's not, then hindsight would be 20/20 on the Cowboys not trading him now. I wouldn't blame the front office at all for NOT trading him this offseason if 2 years down the road he's a below average QB. The Cowboys would have no way of knowing that at this moment in time.

They are the ones that deal with him everyday one-on-one. So I'm sure they have some idea of his future potential.

Its like when someone is assigned to my team here at work. You kind of know after about a year what they are going to be and what they are not going to be. Its not difficult to make those kinds of evaluations once you've seen it enough.

So hopefully they have an idea. We'll find out.

This wasn't an article. Just my humble little contribution. ;)

You make a good point about the increased longevity of the game for QBs. The central issue could be that the position really rewards the guys that deeply understand the game. Guys that last have big databases that they can instantly process.

Brady often knows what defenders are going to do better than they themselves know. He also enjoys an obscenely clean pocket a lot of the time.

Keeping the who is better argument out of it, there is zero chance Romo is here next year if he still wants to be a starting QB in the NFL. The Cowboys are 100% committed to Dak being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys and even JJ is not dumb enough to keep Romo around.
