Cowboys in Enviable Position with Fewer Great QBs

No, it's a rather easy call. There's not a GM in the NFL that would trade Dak and keep Romo. You must have Romo tinted glasses on if you can't see how easy of a decision it actually is.

I don't have any glasses on. Romo or otherwise. Just trying to look at all the options available to the team that would give us the best chance at a SB in 2017 and maybe beyond.

When we traded Hershel Walker to the Vikings back in 1989, I remember how people were stunned and said the Cowboys would never amount to anything now. How did that turn out?

Even if it might seem ridiculous, its always worth a look. On some level.

This wasn't an article. Just my humble little contribution. ;)

You make a good point about the increased longevity of the game for QBs. The central issue could be that the position really rewards the guys that deeply understand the game. Guys that last have big databases that they can instantly process.

Brady often knows what defenders are going to do better than they themselves know. He also enjoys an obscenely clean pocket a lot of the time.

I agree. Those who have that experience, if they can actually play, have such huge advantage, it's obscene. At least, that is my view of it.

Very different circumstances. Very different.

It will be a circus next year when Romo stays and beats out Dak in camp

Truth be told, in a training camp situation, Romo would beat out Prescott. Romo's edge in experience and his knowledge of the offense is better than Prescott's; at least right now.

But Prescott is almost 15 years younger than Romo and the Cowboys don't have to cross their fingers he'll get up after every routine hit. It's hard to say goodbye, but it's time to bid Romo adieu.

I agree w/every word of this.

Dak was a true gift. To get a franchise quarterback and the best player in the draft with the 135th pick defies all probability. I'm thankful he's a Cowboy.

It's crazy, and making me feel older, to watch the careers of so many great QBs I watched over the years starting to unwind. I look back, and even though I didn't get to witness a ton of Cowboys success, I still had a lot of fun over the years watching this league. I will most definitely miss Romo, though, I am ready for the future as it does indeed appear promising. So we hope.........

How much would it take for you to consider trading Dak to another team?

How many players and draft picks?

You dont trade your franchise Qb...

But answering your question... Three firsts and some more?

I'm not willing to call wentz a bust but he's very underwhelming. Despite being huge and having a big arm he wentzs and dunks habitually.

You know who else was huge and had a huge arm? Jamarcus Russell, Ryan leaf, Andre ware, dan McGwire, and Jim druckenmiller.
