Brady will be 40 next season. Romo 37. Ryan 32. Drew Brees turns 39 in January, the same month Aaron Rogers enjoys his 34th birthday and Carson Palmer his 38th. Roethlisberger will be 35 in March and he's hinting at the end of a career.

Recent drafts of Manziel, Bortles, Osweiler haven't delivered, and though Mariota and Winston have looked good...they don't have the leadership qualities, maturity and decision making that we've already seen in Prescott.

Meanwhile draft pundits decried the absence of top quarterbacks in the 2016 class. Rumors are that Rams officials knew Goff was a bust by the end of mini-camps. Wentz didn't seem to improve during the '16 season. (to Risen's utter dismay)

No quarterbacks in the 2017 class are seen as sure things.

In Dallas? All Dak did is enjoy the greatest season ever seen by a rookie quarterback. He's 23 and signed on a ridiculously affordable contract.

We are in a are very enviable position, bros.

How much would it take for you to consider trading Dak to another team?

How many players and draft picks?

It will be very interesting to see in 5 years who the top QB's in the NFL will be. I'm sure Prescott will be among them as Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rothlisberger, Rivers, Manning, Romo, Palmer and others fall away.

NFL starting QB's are awfully old these days. Mostly because the QB's coming up are not good enough to over take them. To be fair, a few of the guys listed above are Hall of Famers.

A year from now we will be in an enviable position. As of right now we still have a ton of cap resources allocated to the QB position.

Every draft pick they get for the next five years, you just don't trade a great QB ever. Look at NE, their team is crap for talent save Brady and the coaches yet they win. Look at all the good defensive teams versus teams with great QB play.... no team with a great D made the final four this year but all had great QB play. Great QBs are exponentially the most critical thing for teams to find but also the hardest.

A few others:

Eli Manning was yet another January baby. He will turn 37. I'm not sure what he offers the Giants these days, anyways.

Dalton is 29 but doesn't seem to ever do anything come playoff time. Maybe its just me, but Russell Wilson didn't look that good in 2016.

I do believe Cam has all the physical tools, but his on-field character is up for questions

3 years of first and second rounders might not even persuade me.

True. But at least we have a young, healthy quarterback NOW. Not many can say that. And since the front office knows Romo will be off the books soon...they can use their "cap credit card" more aggressively this offseason.

You never trade a potential franchise QB. Especially when the existing one is exiting the team.

Atlanta Falcons are the team I recall trading a future franchise QB and at the time they had no idea how good Favre would be. Dallas has a good feel for what Dak is and they know how difficult it would be replace him. So why would they even consider trading him?

I think the Giants need a QB myself.

Wilson was hurt most of the year. He started playing very well when he got healthy. If they rebuild their O-line, they will be good for a long time.

As for Cam? I don't know. He may not be playing in a few years. I don't think he has the competitive fire required to constantly improve. He's a rich man now. Another tough year like this last one and he may be finished.

He completed 63% of his passes with a WR group that was arguably the worst in the NFL.

He's gonna be a pain in our *** for years.

Dump offs led to a respectable percentage, and 63% is nothing all that special. Do you know that Bradford had a 70% completion percentage with similar approach this year? Dump offs = Taking a dump.

Yes they will be better if they get some weapons at WR and maybe that will change things a bit.

But Wentz is not nearly as impressive, IMO as Dak.
