Shefter got his notes mixed up.

McFadden is fine as a backup and not a lot of money. This is JJ running his mouth if there is anything to it.
Maybe you're spoofing us...
But this makes absolutely no sense to me.
Morris is signed for another year and I'm pleased as punch with resigning McFadden, who'll be a heck of a lot less costly than Peterson.
Maybe trade Morris? If Peterson willing to play on the cheap, he's much better option than Morris. Think Hershel's second stint with Cowboys.
Having AP backing Zeke is akin to having Romo backing up Dak last season, season isn't over if starter goes down. Best back up in the league.
I like bringing in vets that are known physical freaks in their career twilight. Guys like Darrell Green, Charles Woodson, and Julius Peppers can keep contributing well beyond normal player shelf life. I'd say Peterson and Ware fit that category. Just don't go spending money on them like it's their second contract.Supposedly Dallas is interested in Peterson and ware.
Makes no sense. Hopefully he goofed and meant to report Dallas is interested in Patrick Peterson.Adam Shefter is reporting that Dallas is interested in Adrian Peterson.
I was for this at one time, but this would be an odd signing.

Yeah Peterson is better than Morris... No doubt.
But a much better value is McFadden.
For as much help as this defense needs I'm on board with using whatever spare cap-space the team has on improving that unit.
It would have to be an Alfred Morris type contract for it to make any sense whatsoever and we know Peterson won't sign for that cheap.
Dallas just needs to draft a versatile RB. Or just re-sign DMAC.
He wants to play not sit. He'll do more sitting than playing if he comes "home". I can't see it.
