QB pressures, their impact on passer rating and FAs

There's several of these high pressure guys expected to be available in FA ranging from expensive to fairly cheap. Hopefully they can bring in 1 or 2 of these guys. Ingram or JPP could be more long term, but guys like Long, Johnson or Alexander could help as stop gaps on reasonable deals. It's not just about sacks, though they are nice. Some of these guys below would seem to be nice additions that I never would have thought about. Some of these guys I wanted before, but want more now, like Ingram. I'm actually more open to JPP after seeing his pressures as well as his sack numbers in the number of games he played.

JPP isn't bad when you look at pressures and sacks and factor in his missed 4 games. There are some others that look promising as well. War daddy time!

Nice post.

Pressure and at times containment is priority #1. Sacks are secondary and come as a result with pressure although some rushers will have higher sack totals/pressures than others.

They're not useless. They only tell part of the story, but they do tell part of the story. Great production for his $1.25 million salary and solid production for his $4.35 million cap hit. If he doesn't take his game to another level in 2017 then he becomes overpaid.

I'm warming to the idea of Ingram or JPP, but I don't think the addition of either should change the draft strategy. DL and CB should be the high priorities.

Anthony Spencer. But he was really with Ware not Ellis (they were only on the roster together two seasons).

From mostly the DE position which he manned most of the time. It also happens to be a position he is not equipped for in teh NFL even though he played it in college. He got his current contract flashing as very good 3T but last season played mostly DE because he could contain the edge better than anyone else that played DE, but he has no burst from the DE spot hence why he was moved inside 2 years ago.

that is the biggest fallacy going........ the dead money should have no bearing on the decision to cut a player......it is only about being worth his salary any more

His base salary of 7.25m guarantees on 3/13....... at that point they should restructure him.......all guaranteed contracts should be restructured and should be done before any non-gtd salaries

I didn't say that correctly. Not that they couldn't cut him but it would likely be cap neutral at that point so as long as he's useful they wouldn't want to

No you were right about this place freaking out.......but that is because the idea of dead money is still not completely understood.......DAL should always create the space when possible because they never know when they might need it..........if they don't they can always roll it over
