The Romo market just went up

Negotiating ploy. Now teams who are interested will have to begin negotiating at a higher level of compensation. Dallas needs to do the same thing. Come out and say they planned the cap to have Tony and Dak for at least two years and nothing has changed. No release and no trade unless market value is paid. Period! Romo can go find a team willing to give up a high pick or he can play in Dallas or he can retire.

You can look at it either way.

Could also mean the Pats know there isn't much of a market out there for QBs right now.

Don't buy into that too much. The Pats leaked that out there to help drive up the price for Jimmy G. They want a first and a 4th for him and at this point, no team is interested (don't blame them). So, just leak that out there to good ole buddy Adam Schefter (or Peter King) and they'll carry the water and see how the rest of the league reacts.

This is not possible because I've been told that "there is no market for Romo"

Having said that, this is clearly a ploy by NE to jack up his price

Hopefully this helps us but knowing jerry and how he loves tony he'll just release him and we get squat

There is a limit that teams will go though. They don't like the market, so they float they are keeping him.

That is simply smart chess play.

Who has said there is no market for Romo? There may or may not be a trade market for him, but there is most certainly a market for him.
And most teams appear confident to wait it out. It is what they do when looking at Dallas.

For whatever reason, you don't see the Cowboys as sellers, usually buyers and desperate ones at that.

I cannot even recall the last time we brokered a successful trade of one of our own players since Johnson left the building.
