And most teams appear confident to wait it out. It is what they do when looking at Dallas.

For whatever reason, you don't see the Cowboys as sellers, usually buyers and desperate ones at that.

I cannot even recall the last time we brokered a successful trade of one of our own players since Johnson left the building.
While I support releasing Romo if there is no real trade opportunity there, this post is sad but true. lol

You can look at it either way.

Could also mean the Pats know there isn't much of a market out there for QBs right now.

Or that Brady is almost 40, and nearing the end soon. If not for his career, than as a Patriot. Bellicheck always gets rid of players a year or 2 earlier than expected. So why would Brady be any different.

If true (big if) the value for these younger guys went up
AJ McCarron
Mike Glennon
Colin Kaepernick
Tyrod Taylor

btw, the Pats also love Jacoby Brissett, their rookie QB from last year

For that matter, how many other teams have brokered great trades of their own players in the last decade? A few, but not many.
It's pretty rare in the NFL.

Who has said there is no market for Romo? There may or may not be a trade market for him, but there is most certainly a market for him.

Cutting Romo just to make him happy at the expense of the team might be the stupidest move Jerry has ever made but he will do it, no doubt, and CZ homers will applaud him for it

When other teams know you will cut the player, why would they trade for him? To trade him you have to send a strong signal that you are keeping him. The problem with our FO is that the owner has verbal diarrhea and there are more leaks than the Trump White House

People say that Romo makes too much to be a backup. Watch what the Super Bowl champs pay their backup.

Romo does not make too much to be backup. This year there might well be 1-2 games that the back up has to win for us to make or seeding in post season and Romo would be the best option. However Jerry is a football idiot and wants to be Romos friend and so this decision will be made based on what Romo wants and not what is best for the team.

He makes Denver or Houston or KC legitimate SB contenders

I would not cut Romo period and would not trade him for less than 2 second Rd picks

You are just being foolish. Romo is not going to be content standing by on the sidelines carrying a clipboard for a 2nd year.
He will start to make waves in the press and may hold out until the season starts like another backup QB did. Even if he shows
up we would still have to pay his entire salary since he is a vested vet. Do you really want to mess up an entire locker room and
team fortunes trying to get picks for an older QB. Tony has leverage...and lots of it.

Define high end.

I fully expect 2nd round or higher when all bidding is said and done.

There will be no bidding...Romo will set the parameters for his exit from Dallas and Jerry will issue his ticket to the team of his
choice.

If Dallas trades Romo somewhere he doesn't want to go, he'll just retire and go to the booth.

I think Jerry will just do Romo the favor of releasing him so he can make his own decisions. That is, if Jerry can't talk him into staying.

So you're saying he would blackmail the Cowboys? I doubt it. He won't be happy but he has been paid millions upon millions by the Cowboys and is under contract. He would not have started on any other team in the NFL. We don't 'owe' him anything. This is a business transaction.

However, my point is that if we stand our ground we will be able to trade him so this will be a non issue
