Signed by Cowboys Brice Butler re-signs with the Cowboys

Why should the 2nd wr by default be more appetizing than the slot receiver or the right end? Is it because of the 2 in the name?

How about this then for our hierarchy.

Outside WR1 > TE1 > Slot WR1 > RB1 > Outside WR2
To each their own. I expect the #2 WR to be better than a 4th or 5th option. If the RB is more appealing to throw to than the #2 WR, that's not a good sign about the WR corps, IMO.

If we don't sign another WR in addition I will be expecting a draft pick in the early rounds. Dez is hurt far too often to place that much weight on Butler. I dont dislike re signing him though. Its just kind of meh. I suppose its good to have somebody that supposedly knows the offense.

Give me Dede Westbrook....could even be had on day 2 of the draft.

Honestly, some people here are down on him, I think opposite Dez he can have a good year. He made some big catches for us this season.
he's a solid 3 or 4 overall. not happy nor unhappy to hear this. just ... um...cool.

I'm okay with this. He and Dak showed some surprising flashes of rapport on deep shots, so another year could be even better.

Butler is OK as WR4.

I suspect we draft a WR somewhere in the first 3 rounds.
Are there any superstar WRs who have questionable judgment about controlled substances or are coming back from potentially career-ending college injuries? If so, we'll pick one of them up in Rd 2.

i would love to get a speedster wr. Like odell. Can catch and great run after the catch ability (good route runner).

Would be nice to sign another guy that most seem to think is just a Meh guy and they turn out to have the type of production Laurent Robinson had for us a few year ago.

Keep looking down the WR draft list to you come to this guy from Mississippi State who Dak threw to for a couple of years.
The Cowboys have already had discussions with him I hear. Just saying there may be some smoke there.

Didn't read the entire post but I understand terms to the contract have yet to be disclosed. It appears it's a one year. For a WR with his speed and size at 6-3 213 I like the signing. I expected this as it puts some pressure on Williams as well as an insurance policy for a 2/3 WR. I see him RIGHT NOW as a 2/3 leaning towards a 3.

I fully expect a WR to be signed R1-4 to compete at the 1-3 WR position. Butler should grow some this year as a WR. I expect him to be a 20-40 catch type of guy.

I just hate Butler because he has a room temperature IQ. Harder to root for a guy that has all the physical skills but is dumber than **** and doesn't go up to challenge balls than it is for another similar player with lesser tools but better intangibles.
