Stephen Jones on FA losses

Well let's hope he is right.

After all, he's not replacing Darren Woodson and Deion Sanders in their prime..we are replacing a couple "solid" players past their prime.

I wish draft day would get here already so we can get excited about something.

While talk is just talk. I wonder how many safeties they have their eye on in the draft.

Some decent praise for Heath imo. Leader comment and then the comment about "....why he isn't starting".

The guy looked like he didn't belong on the field when he got extensive playing time a few years ago. It is possible for players to improve though.

I personally believe his upside is a lot like Wilcox, he is better in small doses. If you give opposing defenses an opportunity to strategize against him, you're going to be in trouble.

As I said, players improve...I wouldn't mind giving him a shot to earn the starting spot but I wouldn't be married to him starting either.

Jeff Heath may very well start this year.

I like Stephen's comments on "3rd contracts" too -- good philosophy to have.
Yeah. It is easy to tell that the front office is now running the team correctly. Talking about leaders, character, taking BPA, and focusing on the right things.

Sure is nice to finally trust the team to make good, sound decisions. I have felt this way since about 2011. Before that it was when Jimmy was still picking players.

Interesting that he mentioned Heath as being a leader. Then he mentioned his play vs Packers. My have time and perceptions changed about Heath. He has improved every year he's been here. Is he an upgrade over Church? Only time will tell.
He may not be an upgrade over church but if he is not a liability compared to church and he can be a bridge to a young player with potential then it's a good move

S Jones on J Heath's game vs. Pack: "If you turn on the tape & watch that, there are a lot of people who wonder why isn't that guy starting"

Heath is a quality backup IMO and possibly a "glue guy" on a team. I respect the Jones family as a whole and Stephen very much but the only folks who wonder why Heath isn't starting are at the Star or used to work for the Joneses.

Upgrade the defense as a whole and the starting safety next to Byron Jones. Do love that he continues to relay the emphasis the team is putting on the defensive side of the ball for 2017.
