FT: Is Dak Prescott the best QB in the NFCE? (Yes)

Only time will tell if Dak was a one year wonder. I think he will be fine but I would not be surprised if he has a sophomore slump next year. If he does have as a good of season next year as he did this past one, he will definitely be in top 5 QB talk for years to come.

The Cowboys chose not to go after a legit franchise prospect and instead take a waste of space in round 4. Not only is the pick bad but the time that will be wasted on a player who will never be the pocket passer you need is the worst aspect of it.

Ahhh good times. It seems like that was only yesterday.

Eli was terrible last year and is on the downside of his career. We could very well be witnessing him falling off the proverbial cliff. Based on last year there is no question he was better than Eli, Wentz, and whatever Washington manages to cobble together.

Wondering how you came up with that conclusion? If we're looking at what he did in his only year in the NFL, he's nowhere near the middle of the pack. If we're looking at potential, he's nowhere near the middle of the pack.
Dak did an excellent job with the best offensive personnel in the NFL, and with a limited playbook design by Linehan.

But when Dallas played elite defenses that could force him to stay in the pocket and took away Witten and Beasley, he struggled mightily.

He was a rookie. He'll learn.

Eli didn't regress that much. It was about in line for what he's been his entire career. Lots of chuck and duck, per usual, but harder to do without a sizable receiver, which is why they're so excited about Marshall.

But then, they keep blaming Eli's struggles in the OL even though he was only sacked 28 times. McAdoo dared to say it's not all the OL and the NY media went bonkers on him.

Every qb in the league struggles against a pass rush that blizes and the OL doesn't pick it up. Not just a rookie.

He had lots of pocket time against the Giants, Vikings, and Eagles. He just didn't feel comfortable in there when he was hemmed in.

Dak was a great story last year, and could very well be great in the future, but I think you guys grossly under-estimate how protected Dak was. Your oline and running game was straight up beastly. Elliot could get stopped at the LoS and still fall forward for a 3 or 4 yard gain. It was a huge task for defenses to get off the field because you guys always moved the chains.

I know this is going to incite outrage on a Cowboy board, but Kirk is clearly the best QB in the East right now. He statically faced the toughest defenses last year out of all QBs. He has a mediocre at best running game. Your defense wasn't the best, but the Skins was historically bad. We also had one of the worst kickers in the league. The past two years as a starter, Kirk has been top 5 in several key stats. If Kirk had a Dallas caliber run game, Kirk would be unstoppable because our playaction would be much more effective and our receivers would be even more open than they were. Our redzone performance would greatly improve also because teams know we can't run the ball and tight redzone windows get even tighter with no run threat. Hopefully the Commanders will draft a high caliber RB because it's a huge hole for us.

The ranking as of right now goes-
Kirk
Dak
Eli
Wentz

Of course things can change. Wentz could have a break out year or something like that.

The real question here is who throws more INT's this year Mongo or Wentz? I'm just glad that Mongo finally has some competition in that area now.
